HG-76 sailed from Gibraltar to Britain in December 1941 and was specially targeted by the Germans. A wolfpack of U-boats was sent against it, and the Luftwaffe was heavily committed too in a rare example of German inter-service cooperation. German intelligence agents in Gibraltar and Spain also knew every detail of HG-76 before it had even sailed, seemingly stacking the odds in favour of the Kriegsmarine. Despite this the convoy fought its way through.

Nearly half the collection is on communist ideology. While interesting to hear the grandiose and unrealistic ideas of these philosophers: I expected more balance. Several of the readers, mispronounced words often enough to be distracting

Etymologically, the word "apocrypha" means "things that are hidden", but why they were hidden is not clear. Some have suggested that the books were "hidden" from common use, because they contained esoteric knowledge too profound to be communicated to any except the initiated...others have suggested that such books were hidden due to their spurious heretical teaching.

Not sure I pike the modern adaptation

The stories are ancient, but the modern adaptation seems harder to follow than the other version I have. The reader was ok, but he pronounced so many names and places different from what I have heard before, that it was distracting.
