Historia
An unidentified nude female sits propped against a fountain in Central Park. There are no signs of struggle. When Dr. Kay Scarpetta and her colleagues Benton Wesley and Pete Marino arrive on the scene, they instantly recognize the signature of serial killer Temple Brooks Gault. Scarpetta, on assignment with the FBI, visits the New York City morgue on Christmas morning, where she must use her forensic expertise to give a name to the nameless—a difficult task. But as she sorts through conflicting forensic clues, Gault claims his next victim.

Historia
When 14-year-old Zoe Johnson doesn't come home on a Monday night in early December, the alarm bells in Kings Lake Central police station do not ring straight away - after all, she's from the Dockmills, one of the toughest estates in the town. But for Detective Sergeant DC Smith, due to retire in just three weeks' time, there are some strange echoes of the case that has haunted him for the past 13 years. Maybe it's simply his over-developed sense of irony, or maybe, in his final days as a police officer, Smith must look once more into the eyes of a serial killer.

Do so many drugs need to be involved!
Revisado: 12-17-21
I enjoyed her first book so I bought the second one but I’m not sure that I will be purchasing the third one. I’m not offended/opposed when drugs are used to enhance the storyline. However, it seems this writer defaults to Claire using unbelievable amounts of cocaine and stealing drugs from any house she visits. I don’t think it adds to the story if anything it takes away from the excellent underlying threads she weaves linking past to present. Again, I will have to really consider purchasing her third book.

Revisado: 09-12-20
I never knew there was such scandal in an area I frequently travel in for work. I am not a native to Louisiana so I had not heard of the Jeff Davis 8 until a conversation with an acquaintance from Jennings. I am glad I looked into it and found this book. Very eyeopening.

Revisado: 01-24-18
My only hang up is the mispronunciation of local places. For example, Belle Chasse was said incorrectly. Other than that, I enjoy how each book build a deeper storyline upon the last.

Revisado: 05-29-16
I have enjoyed the books so far in the series. My only dislike is that Kit is constantly having to be saved by others from danger she puts herself in. There was a glimpse of her protecting herself so hopefully she will start doing so more often in future books.

I enjoyed the listen. But... some parts were so unbelievable it made it hard to stay interested in the story at times. It left a lot of juicy tidbits for the final book in the trilogy. I will for sure be listening to that one too.
