I started Keto about 9 months ago, after reading this book. I followed a bunch of Facebook groups as well, and found many people giving Bad advice. I would read this book and educate yourself if you are thinking about trying keto.
I am female, mid 40's and struggled with 50 lb weight fluctuations most of my adult life. Since I started (and did keto strictly for 3 months, less strict for 3 more, then stopped) I am down nearly 40 lbs!
I have not been doing keto for several months but my lower weight seems stable. My appetite is definitely lower overall now as well, even when having carbs.
I have 10 lbs to go to my 'goal' so I am getting back on the keto train in the New Year. ;)
Its a huge relief to me to have found this, and understanding why and how it works was important to my success. Knowing why its different than Atkins for example.
I found it interesting and well thought out, easy to listen to and implement. If you are on the fence, I say try it. Its hard at first, but its well worth it and def. gets easier.

I have been going out of my way to educate myself on health issues, and use my common sense to make up my own mind since "studies" can't really be trusted, and can be skewed to defend pretty much any health claim.

I've read a ton of health books, and this is in my top 3 favorites. Easy to follow and understand, great info and advice. (Google the author, he has like 8 books, just not on Audible, and lots of solid advice.)

I love sleeping. Ok? There, I said it. Bedtime is my favorite time of day, I love my time to unwind and get ready for relaxing myself into blissful slumber.
My partner does not. He was thinking he was fine with 6 hours of sleep a night, and suffering from insomnia off and on for nearly 20 years. A couple for just over a year, he woke me up regularly and his insomnia was quickly becoming mine, and having a serious negative impact on my energy.

I suggested he read this book and it has transformed how he views sleep and his relationship with it, and the health implications and importance of it in general.
We have made a few key changes and he says it's one of the best things he has done, he sleeps and feels 100 times better now. He has lost weight, looks younger and well rested, has more energy and our bedroom is being used for what it was meant for more often. Ahem. And no electronics to distract us from our time to relax, connect and rejuvenate as a couple and individuals.
I do not feel this book was hype, or sales-y or gave dangerous advice (low lights are not dangerous lol).

If you are looking at reviews either you or someone close to you needs help with sleep, this book absolutely gave us useful information that has impacted us both in a positive way.
If you dont like it, return it.....but I believe it will help you as it did us and is worth the listen.

A personal trainer referred me to Dr. Mercola's website a few years back and I have been hooked since. The info he provides is solid, its Not based on what's popular and "facts" are not based on the opinion of what some corporation paid for the "studies" to show.

Anyway - Mercola's stuff is in my opinion the most accurate and pertinent out there. He addresses many areas of importance with good information.
Worth a listen for sure, and all very important to know now.

I have educated myself a fair bit in the last few years on heath after being diagnosed with celiacs, and a thyroid condition. Still struggling to lose weight, I am continually listening to books about health and weight loss, and an interest in intermittent fasting caught my eye here.
I think the book is not bad. He has some good info, what I would consider to be accurate and current with what we are learning about health lately. No to sugars, no to gluten, yes to certain kinds of fat, lots of proteins and veg. Healthy gut flora and bacteria balance matters 100%. The vitamin supplement list he gives is bang on, mostly its all good stuff.
But I don't like that he has no medical background to speak of, but is giving health advice based on personal experience.
No mention of goitrogens and what veggies those with thyoid issues should never eat.
Is this the new Atkins diet? Lots of fat and protein....I feel like I've been here before.
I guess I dont regret buying the book and think there is good info in here, but by no means a bible to live by. I'd listen to a few others as well, and make your own conclusions.
The constant interruptions with endorsements were annoying, not helpful and the sales push to buy his product also a head shaker. Couple of reminders would have sufficed, and the book easily could have been 2 hours less.

Where was this information 15 years ago? Even 5...how different my life could have been.
I've struggled my whole life with a myriad of health issues, unexplainable weight gains, constipation, brain fog, depression. Thyroid tests come back normal, blood work always fine.
Then, in my mid 30's I began travelling to other countries for 3 - 9 months a year and Every time I came back to North America, gained 15 - 30 lbs within two MONTHs.
No one could explain this to me, and I felt helpless and alone. I felt upset and tired.
Was this because I left my beloved travels behind? I was not over eating, what was going on? I did not know.
What I did know is within 2 days of getting back I had pain in my stomach and constipation that would not let up no matter what I did. I knew that our "perfect" tap water made me feel like throwing up. I knew that I did Not eat more - but I gained 20 lbs seemly overnight. My moods fell to say the least. This happened Five Times.
I now know where ALL of this stems from. Starting with the C-section that brought me into this world, the frequent antibiotics I've been on, and a grain rich North American diet. Recipe for disaster.
Understanding your gut, how to keep it balanced and healthy, the importance of what to eliminate and what to bring in - is Imperative for all of us.
Well filtered water, glutamine, good quality probiotics, fermented foods, proper vitamin supplementation....all this knowledge is here for us all and you deserve to be informed.
Now living back in Canada once again, and less than 2 months into the changes suggested by this and other similar "gut" books, I am dropping weight, sleeping better, feeling happier and more alert.
Get this book and listen to every word. If you hate it, return it.
But I really think it can help many of us, regardless of the health issue that has driven you to look at the reviews. Cutting the grains and sugars, and re-balancing your gut health will change your life.
On a final note - science is now proving that our gut cells fire more neurones as a form of communication, than our brains. Gut feelings? They are real. Keeping this part of us healthy really matters on so many levels.

I am very glad I got this book. I think it started a bit slow, and could have skipped the first 1.5 hours which is more about the authors personal story. But some might like the background stuff.
I am fairly self educated on healthy clean eating, and think what I heard here is solid and quality information. I think every-one, in the world, could benefit from the information provided and practicing the cleanse and re-balancing of the digestive system.
I googled the book and see he also has some You Tube videos, check them out first to see if you like his style. He also has a website selling a supplement program, but I was able to get enough info out of the book to design my own, since I dont live in North America I have to make due with what is available to me here.
All in all, a good book and worth a listen if you are looking to improve your health in a very real way.

I have been listing to this book 5 nights a week at bedtime for months. My lucid dreaming has not changed or increased.
It is pleasant enough to listen to, and more of a meditative way to fall asleep, but didn't seem to help me with gaining more consciousness in my dreams than normal.

I like this series mostly because it is right inline with my own belief system I suppose. If you havent read the 1st book, I do suggest getting that one before Book Two...but it doesnt really matter.
I dont think it matters if this guy is talking to God, or if he is just talking to himself (one in the same if you are of that mindset) but I like the hard questions and the seemly obvious answers that we tend to forget. Great reminders for me, and us all.
I love these books, and recommend them to anyone with an open mind. I also find them quiet witty at times...turns out even "God" likes a laugh here and there.
Honestly though, I think I preferred the hard copy books, which is usually not the case with me.
Only negative for me - The voice of "God" switches between 2 people, and while I understand the point behind that it was still a bit annoying to listen to.
