Not worth the credit or time
Revisado: 07-04-19
I couldn't finish this book. The writing style is awkward and confusing. At the beginning of the story, Jules is told twice by two different people not to get involved. This made me wonder if I missed the first book. Why would anyone automatically assume she is going to investigate. There's no reason for anyone to think that she is going to investigate. Yes, as a reader of cozy mysteries, I know she is going to investigate. However, the author usually lays a foundation before the investigation. Another problem I had with the story is that Jules being a suspect doesn't make sense. She had an argument with thee man last year. Since the argument, she worked with him. There were just too many plot wholes to count. Also, the dialog between the rabbit and Jules is distracting. Bun doesn't really contribute anything to the story and his character seems to be a novelty. Like I said, I couldn't finish the book and returned it.

This book is awful. The characters are unrealistic and the author should have hired a narrator. I couldn't get through it.

Pleasant Surprise

This is a pleasant surprise. The story is entertaining and well written. The characters are engaging and well developed. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

Historia
Burl Davis checked out of this life a little earlier than expected - before Holly could serve him with divorce papers over his extramarital flings. Unfortunately, it was not before he nearly bankrupted her beloved B&B, Holly Grove, a converted plantation in her family for generations. Holly would never wish anyone dead, but three months later, she's feeling a lot more relief than grief. But then Burl's ghost appears as an unwelcome guest. Before his spirit can move on, her not-so-dearly departed needs Holly’s help to bust up the drug-smuggling ring he was involved with.

This was a mistake
Revisado: 06-15-19
This was a mistake. I thought it would be good based on the plot summary but I was wrong. This is a book with a lot of ideas that aren't really tied together. None of the characters are really likeable. I forced myself to listen as long as I could then I returned it. There are other books out there that deserve a chance. This is not one of them. (In my opinion)

Not Good
Revisado: 06-12-19
Based on the reviews of this book, I thought I would enjoy this cozy mystery. I was wrong. The characters are flat and their behavior and interactions with each other unbelievable. Bliss claims to love her husband, but she appreciates and befriends the woman who an affair with her husband. While claiming to love her husband so much, Bliss is also in love with her best friends husband. And, his wife doesn't seem to mind. There are so many things wrong with this book that I stopped reading it and returned it.

Annoying
Revisado: 06-11-19
Deal Gone Bad is not the worst book I've listened to, but it's not the best. The story was a bit flat and formulaic. The character development was ok. What I found annoying were constant references to Dylan's mouth twitching. Why can't the man smile? The author makes it seem like he has a facial tick. I also didn't like the character of Belle. I realize that she is suppose to provide comic relief, but she comes off as insensitive and flighty. The author also spends too much time on Lily's relationship with Dylan. We get it, He broke her heart. Yet, every five minutes we are reminded of their broken relationship and it's so obvious that they will get back together. I also didn't like that the characters kept saying that the victim was a mean old lady but you had to respect her. I can't really recommend this book and I won't be getting anymore in this series.

I stopped listening after chapter 7. The plot and characters fall flat. The story is beyond boring. The narrator is absolutely horrible. She rambles on and on running all of the sentences together.
