The Bell Jar

Historia
The Bell Jar chronicles the crack-up of Esther Greenwood: brilliant, beautiful, enormously talented, and successful but slowly going under - maybe for the last time. Sylvia Plath masterfully draws the reader into Esther's breakdown with such intensity that Esther's insanity becomes completely real and even rational, as probable and accessible an experience as going to the movies. Such deep penetration into the dark and harrowing corners of the psyche is an extraordinary accomplishment and has made The Bell Jar a haunting American classic.

Beautiful and honest
Revisado: 02-16-16
A book with this much honesty only comes from experience. It is a moving story because of that honesty. I also very much enjoyed the biographical note at the end about the author's life.

Historia
Audie Award, Humor, 2016. In Furiously Happy, number-one New York Times best-selling author Jenny Lawson explores her lifelong battle with mental illness. A hysterical, ridiculous book about crippling depression and anxiety? That sounds like a terrible idea. But terrible ideas are what Jenny does best.

Incredible
Revisado: 12-02-15
Jenny Lawson talks about seriously serious stuff in the most amazing way possible. Her openness about her struggles with mental illness is inspiring and her hilarious story telling make this a wonderful book for anyone and everyone. I began aggressively pushing this book on everyone I knew after the first two chapters so I'm really glad that she didn't lose steam halfway through. But seriously.... Listen to this book.
