Minnie Hamilton and her rescue cat, Eddie, cruise around lovely Chilson, Michigan, delivering good reads in their bookmobile. But the feisty librarian is worried that the bookmobile's future could be uncertain when a new library board chair arrives and doesn't seem too friendly to her pet project. Still, she has to put her personal worries aside when she and Eddie are out on their regular route and one of their favorite customers doesn't turn up to collect her books. Minnie, at Eddie's prodding, checks on the woman and finds her lying dead in her snow-covered driveway.

I like the book, the authoress keeps the level high even in number 7 of the series. But I LOVE Eddie! And he is at his best in this story. Listen to it to fall in love with this cat. Mreow!

Normalmente ascolto alle mie audiolibri con velocita augmentata, quasi tutti narratori parlano cosi lento che mi sento imbecile. Francesco Pannofino e finora l'unica esclusione: Posso ritornare sulla velocita normale! Un GRANDISSIMO COMPLIMENTO!
Sul libro sono stato scritti cosi tanti compliment che voglio solo aggiungere che anche in italiano e meraviglioso!

If you have read some historical romance, where an american heiress marries an english aristocrat, the setting of the story will remember you of several of this stories. BUT this here is almost a parody of the genre and as so often the parody is better as the original. More wit, quirkier characters, funnier language and a excellent narrator create an delightful audio entertainment! Looking forward to #2!

Not a book to doze off but to jump with vigor, verve and panache in your next (parasolverse) adventure. Looking forward to #4!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Better audio-quality
What did you like best about this story?
I couldn't listen to it, on a mp3-player the audio-quality is so ridiculously bad, every second word is unrecognizable. So I have nothing to say about the story.
Would you be willing to try another one of Alex Marshall-Brown’s performances?
Maybe, but only with a intense test of the sampler...
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Frustration: I normally like the author. But not being able to listen to the first in the series is a big disappointment.
