Historia
Charlie Rhodes is psychic, telekinetic, and hiding in the one place where they’re looking for her. Enthusiastic to the point of being absurd, Charlie is gung-ho about her position with the Legacy Foundation, a group that travels the world looking to solve the unexplained and prove the existence of the paranormal. From one coast to the next, she (along with her merry band of misfits) investigates strange and odd phenomena...all the while pretending she’s a normal human being without magical to call on.

Could not finish the 3rd book
Revisado: 08-20-24
The narrator is utterly terrible. She has four voices (a forced husky male voice, a whiny high pitched female voice, a rich pompous female voice, and her regular voice), and she switches between almost doing accents and then not doing any accents. The narration is completely distracting.
The stories start off kind of cute, but then the main character turns into a woman who needs saving, is almost helpless despite the fact that she can do magic, and is easily manipulated by her big strong man. He doesn’t respect her ability to function as an independent woman and she just goes along with it. It is insulting. Plus, the cutesy gushy banter between the main characters gets so over the top that I find myself gagging. I could not finish the last book. It was painful to listen to.
It is such a shame because I really like the premise of the books; I just can’t get past the characters (or the terrible narrating).

This three-book omnibus includes the first three books in the Charlie Rhodes Cozy Mystery series. Included are: The Bigfoot Blunder, The Chupacabra Catastrophe and The Werewolf Whoops. Sit back and enjoy the ride. The laughter and tears will stick with you long after the story ends.

Cute and cozy, but completely predictable
Revisado: 08-20-24
I found these three books to be kind of cute, but the main character is a bit indecisive and helpless. As far as cozy mysteries go, I found it to be a bit too cozy and highly predictable.

Historia
Tara never imagined her introduction to Ireland like this - carrying her mam's ashes to honor her final request: "Tell Johnny I'm sorry.... Take me home." She's never met her mam's estranged brother, Johnny Meehan, who owns an architectural salvage business in Galway. Although Tara is immediately charmed by the medieval city, the locals seem wary of strangers, and a gypsy warns her that death is all around. When Tara arrives at her uncle's stone cottage, the prophesy seems true. A dead man lies sprawled over the threshold in a pool of blood.

Not great
Revisado: 03-20-24
I really like the Irish Village series, so I thought this one might be a good fit for me. I found this one to be too predictable, overly redundant, and the main character was selfish and unlikeable. I prefer smart and logical strong woman lead characters. Instead I found myself yelling at the character. To make it worse, the narrator was really not so good. The American accent was painful to listen to, and many times the tone for a character’s line was at odds with the words and description of it (emphasis was off or lighter lines were delivered with too much force). I wanted to like the book, and forced myself to stick it out to the end, but I will not continue with the series.
