Many echoes of Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
This story played to girlish fantasies of popularity and men throwing themselves at main character. At the end the cat fights and perfect body just got to be too much.
Entertaining, decent plot twists; just a little to far fetched with the happily ever after.

Would you listen to Written in My Own Heart's Blood again? Why?

I will listen to this book again and agin as long as I live.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Written in My Own Heart's Blood?

At the end when Bri and Roger return. Claire and Jamie run down the mountain to meet them.

What does Davina Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Even as Davina is reading and you know she's 1 women; she altogether is Jamie and altogether Claire. 2 different people from one person.

what a lovely complilation. I cried at at 3 of the performances.

A memorable moment was releasing the truth is timeless.

Yes, it was so compelling and passionate.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

the writing was lack-luster. This book did not keep my interest. It was shallow and padandic.As a lover of romance novels this one fell flat.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I will not be listening to this author any time soon.

What three words best describe Antony Ferguson’s performance?

He tried real hard and gave a good go.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Rescued by a Highlander?

all the scenes where Maddy McD isn't a simpering mess.

Maddy McD's character had so much potential to show as true women's strength and fortitude. She could have been a beacon of triumph over adversity but completely fell short. As a main character and driving force of the novel;Maddy McD was an unfilled and unfleshed out without a meaningful voice or goal.

Where does Shadowheart rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would say this is a wonderful book. The intrgue abounds.

the first book in this series.

I loved the way Diane And Davina are like Peanut butter & Jelly.

What other book might you compare Outlander to and why?

As wonderful an epic as Gone with the Wind by M. Mitchell, the imagery and characters...

What does Davina Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She can play the villain as well as the hero, I don't think my imagination could've done as good a job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I love audible and can live without it. So well written!

I want my husband to read the series as well!
