Historia
He stands between two worlds, a savior and a destroyer to both. Dragons and aegres will fall. But one can turn the tide. One who stands in the shadow of kings. Such has been seen by the doomed. The weight of ten thousand lives and all the realm besides now sits on Joran's shoulders. So much has already been sacrificed to bring him to the ancient doors of Drakanan, where he might take on the mantle of Dragon Rider and usher in a new age of heroes. But a time of dragons is not all that has been seen…

Good Story but rambles
Revisado: 04-22-25
The overall story is good and engaging for the most part. However, the story rambles back and forth and becomes very frustrating. More frustrating are the lead characters. They are interesting yet irritating as they are annoyingly stupid. They make stupid decisions which leads to silly outcomes. The lead characters screw up constantly and then apologize before doing something stupid again. The author likes to add more and more ridiculous scenarios that make absolutely no sense. I do not want to tell the story as a lot of people seem to give it 5 stars. I could not give anything close to this because the story irritates me and makes me want to stop listening. I did struggle on but the more I listened the more irritated I became.

Good series but slow
Revisado: 01-22-25
I liked the overall story. Good characters and in general a lot happening but there is so much padding that it gets boring. For example, sometimes the whole chapter is about a trip to the inn, discussing wine and food and not much else. The author moves from character to character in the various chapters but sometimes there is absolutely no relevance to the 'quest' or nothing of worth seems to happen.
I also found some of the leads indecisive and a little bit stupid.
I will be honest I have not yet completed this book, I am about 22 hours in and I am frustrated. This book moves the story along at snails pace and in my opinion could be 15 hours shorter. My guess is that the author and publisher are going to release more books in the series....
I will update when I finish, if I finish.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Good Story and excellent narrator
Revisado: 07-29-22
I think the narrator was excellent, the range of voices and accents he uses throughout the series of books brings the characters to life and makes you feel engaged in the story.
This was the third book in the series and while there are characters that transverse the three books, each story is different and entertaining.
I would recommend these books.

Historia
In the world of Warbreaker, each person is born endowed with the power of one Breath―which can be sold and collected by others, then used to Awaken objects and even corpses to do their bidding. A few individuals who die in glory return as gods, with the power of thousands of Breath, but no memory of their mortal lives―and are enthroned in the Court of Gods in Hallandren’s capital. To Vivenna and Siri, princesses of Idris, the abuse of Breath and the claim of the Returned to be gods are repugnant blasphemy.

Interesting, engaging story leaves you unfulfilled
Revisado: 05-09-22
The story is entertaining and there is some good character development that keeps you engaged. The performance was good.
But for me, I was a little frustrated with parts of the story that seem irrelevant and appeared to be left in the story as a 'filler'. I also felt the story was not fully 'thought' through, or it appeared (to me) he developed the plot as he went along, changing direction, or adding an unnecessary twist to the story.
Finally the ending was quick, and left you thinking it was rushed and unfinished.
Overall not bad, but I thought the story lacked development and felt unfinished.

Historia
Infused with magic, shadows and starlight, the powerful godblades were believed to be lost nearly half a millennia ago, when the Godswar ended. Now, however, one has been found by the unlikeliest of wielders: Sampson Gaard, a blind but ambitious prince with something to prove. The only question is whether he controls the blade or the blade him. With an insidious evil lurking in the shadows, the answer may very well determine the fate of all Kingfall.

Inconsistent, frustrating, maddening
Revisado: 09-09-21
I gave 2 stars because there was potential and the performance is good. The story started well, but slowly begins to weave a storyline that is frustrating and nonsensical.
The premise of the story is interesting and had so much potential for a tale of this genre. The performance of Tim Gerard Reynolds is good. But even his abilities and range of voices cannot overcome the storyline flaws with some of the 'lead' characters. Some of the key characters are unbelievable, pathetic, and hopeless. They are 'powerful' but helpless, brilliant but hopeless and this leaves you wondering when this story is really going to get going, but alas.
One is willing to sacrifice his own men, refusing to escape when the opportunity arises just so he can appear to satisfy his honor. This same character, a prisoner in a tyrants land, who constantly moans about the loss of his family and his need for revenge, suddenly decides he will march to fight demons because the evil king mentioned there are innocent people in their path. This man was supposed to be the high commander of his own army, who had won many battles, and was a great strategist. But now he cannot seem to grasp the basics and has lost all of his strategic brilliance and tactical awareness which has somehow disappeared with his manhood or brains or both. So when the enemy King asks his prisoner to go and fight these demons who are plaquing the country, yes the country of his enemy and his captive, he skips off and sacrifices more men, hurrah! In the meantime, the same King decides, while his enemy is fighting nasty demons in his land, he has time to invade the country of his captive. Confused. I was and had to give up. It made no sense.
I would love to know how the PROOF READERS of this book deliberated over the inconsistent and irrational storyline.
I tried and tried to forgive the flaws, which another person could say, 'Well, I see how he might do this', and read or listen on. I cannot.
There was so much potential but the character flaws and storyline are such a huge irritation and spoiled the overall story, in my humble opinion.
And it could have been addressed earlier.

Entertaining but...
Revisado: 08-22-21
I found the story entertaining enough but it seemed to lack depth, not sure what else to say. It is a relatively short story so it probably needed more time to develop more. There are inconsistantcies and so many loose ends, that it is frustrating. But the key characters are so annoyingly flippant when facing threats it feels wrong. Summary, entertaining but lacking depth

It is a good lengthy story......
Revisado: 04-26-21
I loved the first few books and thought this book would end the series, but alas, no, the story continues. It is a good story but at times labors with many long and various descriptions of mental states of many of the characters. It is a good story but sometimes the fighting scenes begin to tire since a lot of times they are the same, I know there are times, at key moments in the story when they are needed and they are exciting. Then there is the explanations upon explanations and the repeated topics that never seem to go anywhere, they appear to be fillers with no real impact on the story, or maybe the author needs to reinforce a point, but this is overdone. You also have to have a very good memory to remember threads of the story from books 1 to 3. It is a good story but the old and newly introduced plots pile on with levels upon levels of complications, that leave you wondering if the story can ever end.
Overall I did enjoy, but sometimes a story can and should end, this one is continuing and while I am content to keep going I am frustrated there is no end in sight, and if there is I do hope it closes all the plots.

Good performance, good story
Revisado: 02-28-21
This is one of the first books I have listened to in this genre with an African like theme (it is not set in Africa). it is an action packed story and a very nice performance.
The story itself is not necessarily a new idea but because it is done with 'black' characters it adds a new dimension or feel to this type of story. It is performed very well in that you can feel the different characters speak whether it's sensitive or gruff or anger...the book moves at speed but you feel you know the characters very well as you move though the story.
