Historia
Amy Piper is a loser. She’s lost her confidence, her mojo and her way. But one thing she has never lost is her total love for her 13-year-old son, Joey, and for his sake she knows it’s time for a change. But first she has to be brave enough to leave the house. What she needs are friends and an adventure. And when she joins a running group of women who call themselves the Larks, she finds both. Not to mention their inspiring (and rather handsome) coach, Nathan.

May be my favorite from Beth Moran
Revisado: 05-04-24
I adore Beth’s books and was surprised to find that this one may be top of the list for me. I love Amy’s vulnerability and Nathan’s patient strength and the honest friends who fight for her when she can’t do it for herself. While many of us will not have experienced Amy’s exact issues, I think we can all relate to missing out on experiences or opportunities due to fear. This story reminds us of the value of resilience and of finding supportive community that challenges us to grow.

Historia
Hardy's first major literary success, here brought to life by narrator Nathaniel Parker, is the story of the independent and spirited Bathsheba Everdene, who inherits her uncle's farm, the largest estate in the area. She surprises the villagers of Weatherbury by deciding to run it herself. Attracted to this bold young woman are three suitors all vying for her affections. They include the lonely gentleman-farmer Boldwood, the young and handsome but inconsiderate Sergeant Troy and the faithful shepherd Gabriel Oak.

Beautiful story and awesome narrator

The first half is slow but important for character development. I love the growth and maturity of Bathsheba throughout the story.

Historia
Caroline Gray’s third season in London society ends as badly as her first two - no marriage proposal, no suitor, not even a glimmer of an interested prospect. She suspects it’s because she is far too quick to speak her mind to men who are put off by her opinions, her intellect, and her unconventional ideas. Besides, Caroline thinks there will always be next season to find a husband. However, her family’s dwindling income leaves Caroline with only one choice to secure her future: a one-way ticket to sail with the fishing fleet to India, where the son of a family friend waits.

Captivating

Such a beautiful story. Would love to see this made into a movie! Telling the story from both perspectives adds to the suspense and you feel the frustration for both sides.

Another great book by Beth Moran
Revisado: 02-06-24
She has such creative story lines and this one doesn’t disappoint. It picks up about halfway through and keeps you highly engaged up until the end.
Contrary to what some readers have said about the narrator, I thought she did an amazing job bringing the characters to life and she has a very soothing, sweet voice that was easy to listen to.

Historia
In this follow-up to Austenland, Charlotte Kinder is eager to escape the numbness she feels after her divorce. Deciding to get away, she visits the Regency-themed Pembrook Park resort in England, where talented actors set the perfect scene. But with everyone playing a role, it’s hard to distinguish reality from fantasy. So when Charlotte’s heart stirs, she wonders if she’s simply caught up in the experience - or if her ability to feel is finally returning.

Loved how this gave a deeper look at a few of the characters from the first book and the main character (Charlotte) is lovely

Historia
We know our lives should reflect Jesus. But if we’re being honest, there are days when we face tough, confusing things that can make us feel, well, not like Jesus. As our culture moves further from truth and grace, Christians are unsure of where to turn for sound biblical advice that applies to their everyday struggles. If you’ve ever felt this way or wished someone would talk about things like forgiveness, mental health, broken friendships, church hurt, and more in honest, down-to-earth terms while sticking to what Scripture has to say about them, you’ve come to the right place.

Awesomely Authentic
Revisado: 10-19-23
I would expect nothing less from Blake, but she somehow manages to be funny and free while dealing with some heavy topics. Very well done and Biblically solid.
