Young person’s Jason Asono. Different take on Isekai LitRPG.
Revisado: 02-22-25
Pleasant listen. Good character development. Beginner’s intro to LitRPG. Interesting take on power development for the main character. Sister summoning is unique but comfortable approach to cultivation.

Too many betrayals.
Revisado: 02-12-25
The betrayals mount to an insurmountable height. I enjoyed the first volume but barely finished this volume. Good storyline overall but too contorted by layers of relationships.

The beginning of an epic tale
Revisado: 01-13-25
Strong character development. Exciting world making with a difference. The struggle of clans and castes is a unique look at mortal man’s struggle with race and ethnicity, gender and the complexity of relational commitments; The struggle of the disenfranchised and the enslaved for equality. A novel of today’s cultural struggles in a world far removed from the world we know, yet familiar in its scope and spirit.

A mystery in the family
Revisado: 08-20-24
A great story line. The mystery moves smoothly through three generations of The family. At times I was on the edge of my seat because of the suspense and mystery. I loved the ending. A very enjoyable read. Would recommend it to anyone who loves mysteries- and ghosts.

Who would have guessed that? When these cruel gods shuffled Earth like a deck of cards, nothing was in the same place anymore. Monsters, dungeons, and magical items appear scattered across the globe. Imaginative development for a cultivation novel.
Revisado: 05-17-24
Great cultivation novel. Enjoyed the many cultures he visits. Toward the end, it got a little fuzzy for me for a short time but then came together. It was fun following Jake through his adventures.

Great story line and character development
Revisado: 12-13-23
A great collection continuation of a great story line. There are some slow parts but they do add to the sense of impending doom. I love the character development. I wish we didn’t always have a cliffhanger, but it does keep me coming back! The reader is awesome. Great vocalization and variety of voices.

Historia
Investigative journalist Laura Chambers is back in her tiny hometown of Hillsborough, North Carolina, the one place she swore never to return. Fired from The Boston Globe, her career in shambles, she reluctantly takes a job with the local paper. The work is simple, unimportant, and worst of all, boring - at least until a missing girl turns up dead, the body impeccably clean, dressed to be the picture of innocence. Years earlier, 10-year-old Patty Finch left home and never made it back. But for the people of Hillsborough, Patty was just the beginning.

Too complicated.
Revisado: 05-01-23
I have listened to all the books in the series up to this one. I love the series, but this was a let down. There were too many things going on at the same time which made it hard to remember who was with whom. The humor is a big part of the series but this over did it. Loved Sharks references to “other books.” Would recommend the series to anyone but this specific volume gets less of a recommendation.

Jason arrives at a kingdom in peril and he's surprised to discover that it's not his job to save it. With the authorities fulfilling their responsibilities (for once), he looks forward to some quiet time to rest and recuperate. The locals might not find ceaseless monster onslaughts and an interdimensional invasion relaxing, but Jason has had a rough few years. He's doing his best to let go of his anger. While his team is caught up in duty, Jason has no shortage of people looking to interfere with his rest. Enemies—old and new—are circling, and even would-be allies are trouble.
