Master Mystery Empress
Revisado: 03-22-24
In deciding to fold the crime deeper inside this book, unlike her others, the author displays layers of lyrical writing that are rarely found in the ‘mystery’ genre for which she is known. Holding it back is perfect punctuation in the book’s sole setting of peaceful rolling hills, and it’s a creative way to prolong and sustain the crescendo. Kudos.

Historia
A podcast about growing up in a Tibetan Buddhist cult in America. BACKGROUND: Una Morera was raised in the largest community of Buddhists in America, led by the enigmatic and outrageous Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche, in Boulder, Colorado. Escaping Tibet in 1959, Trungpa Rinpoche made his way to America to teach the dharma and surround himself with Western students. Very good

Worth a listen for good writing and story telling. Wish the author would express the indignation that definitely and justifiably lives under her skin. Her outrage drew me in, but the last episode seemed like this Mount Everest of emotion abruptly disappeared into Boulder’s thin air.

Historia
In 1923, 34-year-old Adolf Hitler was languishing in prison after leading an unsuccessful putsch to overthrow the German government. Within a decade he was German chancellor, one of the most powerful men in Europe. How did he do it? Had Hitler been a regular politician, Wilson argues, he would have vanished without trace after his prison experience. He was not, however, a regular politician but rather a conjurer, seeing politics not as the art of the possible but as the art of the impossible.

Fact check needed
Revisado: 06-20-20
This book should be fact checked. The bit about Fritz Busch is fantasy. It reduces Busch’s heroic stand against Hitler to his being Jewish, which in fact, he was not. What other fictions masquerade here?
