Historia
Lana Fleming’s sister has vanished from the set of TV’s hottest show, and no one seems to care. Desperate for answers, Lana sneaks in as an extra, only to get stranded with Griffin Hart, an A-list action star with a reputation for good abs and bad decisions. Though Griffin didn’t expect to be cast as a librarian’s sidekick in a real-life thriller, he’s weirdly into it—and into her. Even more unsettling—she sees right through his playboy persona. But their meet-cute soon turns deadly when they uncover a Hollywood scandal for the ages.

Twisty!
Revisado: 03-25-25
I didn’t see all of the twists coming, a great listen. The actors did a great job, embodying their characters well.

Overall good listen

There was a part when the male protagonist realized truths about his mother and father that helped me understand my own parents better. Great aha moment.

Boring! Awful Chicago accent!
Revisado: 02-21-25
The female narrator should never have attempted a Chicago accent. Awful. Made a boring story worse. Cannot finish. I have no idea why this is rated so highly.

Mr Movie narrates a toxic love story
Revisado: 01-17-25
I liked the female narrator. The male voice actor was a little too Christian Bale Batman for my taste. Overall I enjoyed the story but to be honest, the characters seemed too far self-absorbed and in “The Big Misunderstanding,” I found myself rooting for neither.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Charming
Revisado: 05-24-24
There’s currently a lot of overlap in my life between the novel’s characters and my life, although I have a doodle instead of an octopus, which to me spoke to the authenticity of the storylines and feelings. What a great listen, I couldn’t put my earbuds down.

Not a great audiobook
Revisado: 06-03-23
This book is probably better in print than as an audiobook. There are so many short paragraphs and charts that I found it too difficult to follow along. Not every book should be an audiobook.
The format was so distracting that I shelved the book 25% of the way through it.

Historia
When did you last hang out with Jim, Pam, Dwight, Michael, and the rest of Dunder Mifflin? It might have been back in 2013, when the series finale aired...or it might have been last night, when you watched three episodes in a row. But either way, long after the show first aired, it’s more popular than ever, and fans have only one problem - what to watch, or listen to, next. Fortunately, writer Andy Greene has that answer. In his brand-new oral history, The Office: The Untold Story of the Greatest Sitcom of the 2000s, Greene takes listeners behind the scenes.

Eh
Revisado: 04-21-21
I’m a fan of the show, and I highly recommend the podcast on Spotify over this audiobook. The podcast is narrated by Kevin (Brian Baumgartner) and has the actors instead of voice actors for the actors.
I disliked how much the day actors complained (looking at you, Madge).
The book had great insight into what goes on at a network, though, and I could really sense that disconnect they have from flyover country. I appreciated the insight into the creators and producers, too; they seem to value the audience instead of the revenue.
