I couldn't put down this book series. Better yet, I couldn't stop listening. Every spare moment was dedicated to this world and the lives of 5 former powereds.

As always, Drew Hayes takes a concept and finds the twist. This time, it's the word "superpower." He split it into the "Supers", who have superhuman powers, and the "Powereds", who also have superhuman powers, but can't control them.

Throughout the series, we see the former powereds grow in mental, physical, and societal ways while discovering intrigue and finding out who they truly are.

I can't wait to start listening to the whole series again!

Excellent story and performance

I adore this series! Taking the word Superpower and splitting in into 2 groups, the Supers and the Powers, then creating a social world, is genius.

This year finds us missing Nick and wondering how the 5 will continue. I won't give anything away so just know that you'll love the twists and turns as the story continues to unfold.

I loved the story line, the characters, and the voice acting. I could visualize Sherman and Watson doing all these crazy things. The parrot was an extra touch that was worth it.

I love how the author took fairytales and twisted them into such delightful new stories. The production and voice actors were spot on. I'm ready for book #2!

After listening to the story once, I read all the reviews and decided to listen to it again, keeping in mind the critiques.

The biggest criticism was about the reader's voice titling up at the end of sentences. Several people bashed her for this. Personally, I had no problem. It didn't bother me at all. Maybe it's because I grew up in a house with many languages being spoken, but I enjoyed the tilt.

The next criticism was about there being too much description. While, yes, there is quite a lot of description, I enjoyed that, too. I simply lied back and let the author paint pictures for me. The author's imagination was beautiful.

My only complaint was about the villain. I thought he was defeated too easily and wasn't fleshed out enough. But that was addressed at the very end. Now, I can't wait for the second book!!

The Best Santa Claus Story Ever

I loved everything about this recording! The story is brilliantly written with every word carefully chosen to flow and and paint a rich tapestry. I marveled at the perfect words he used and the depth of the characters.

The reader's voice is soothing like a cup of warm cocoa. With the slightest inflection, he makes each character unique. I can't wait to listen to more of his work.

Finally listened to this masterpiece

What an amazing story! As a polytheist and an avid lover of myths, I adored this story! Only someone who truly knows the myths could've woven such a tale. I can't believe it's taken this long for me to read/listen to it.

I read it on Kindle while listening to it through Audible. The voices brought an extra depth to the story and made it even more alive.

Disarmingly Fantastic

Wonderful narrator with subtle voice inflection that let the story flow. Genuine characters as real as yourself juxtaposed with a great fantasy story. I loved it!
