Historia
Talking about death and dying is considered taboo in polite company, and even in the medical field. Our ideas about dying are confusing at best: Will our memories flash before our eyes? Regrets consume our thoughts? Does a bright light appear at the end of a tunnel? For most people, it will be a slower process, one eased with preparedness, good humor, and a bit of faith. At the forefront of changing attitudes around palliative care is hospice nurse Hadley Vlahos, who shows that end-of-life care can teach us just as much about how to live as it does about how we die.

Im partial to books read by the author; Hadley did a great job. Laughs, cries, existential crisis, spiritual awakenings. I enjoyed every bit of it. I admire her as a nurse!

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

I really appreciated her openness and honesty. And she had me bursting out with laughter at the weirdest spots! She’s amazing.

Another nice Christian feel good book from the Bevere’s

The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is the off-centered chapters about abortion that caught me extremely off guard. It just didn’t seem like the place for her opinion to be included. I didn’t quit listening but it seemed in bad taste; So be prepared if you are a woman who has had an abortion. God is pro choice. That’s all i have to say.

I learned a lot while reading this book. I couldn’t stop reading it. It was like nothing I’ve read before and i wasn’t sure why i liked it so much to be honest. It’s about nothing and everything at the same time. There’s no beginning middle and end, it simply is what it is.
