Historia
Arlen Blumhagen captures the feel of the western wilderness of the late 1800s in this story of one man's adventures across the American wilderness. Mount leads a simple life, using his skills to survive in his cabin on the side of a mountain. When circumstances require him to make a trip into St. Louis, Mount thinks it will be a quick visit to the big city and then home. What he isn't prepared for is the request of Andrew Worthington to lead his family through the wilderness and up through the Oregon Trail.

Loved it!
Revisado: 08-21-19
The author has done an excellent job in taking me back to the time of the old west. I enjoyed the story, the plot, and the characters. The narrator and the author combining their talents made this book enjoyable and I give them both 5 stars. The narrator brought these characters to life. With his tone and inflections, he conveyed their feelings of joy, fear, sadness and physical hardship. I was there with them as Mount and the family he was escorting traveled to Oregon. Each hardship they faced on that journey had me anxiously awaiting the outcome and hoping for the best. Each challenge met with success made me smile. Throughout the story, the characters changed and grew as they survived the trip. I recommend this book.

When the body of a murdered man literally falls at Elizabeth Stuart's feet, she's able to wash away the blood - but not the terror. Unwelcome newcomers to Still Creek, Minnesota, she and her troubled teenage son are treated with suspicion by the locals, including the sheriff. Yet nothing will stop her from digging beneath the town's placid surface for the truth - except the killer. Excellent Book
Revisado: 08-17-19
I enjoyed the story plot and the characters in this book. Tami Hoag is now a favorite author of mine and I will listen to more of her books. Joyce Bean is an excellent narrator, giving each character their own voice and mannerisms, bring them to life. She has also become a favorite narrator. If you like mystery, suspense and romance all in one book, then you will love this book.
