Historia
Lifestyle journalist Katrine escaped past traumas by moving to a coast renowned for seaside holidays and natural beauty. But when a vast hoard of human remains and prehistoric artifacts is discovered in nearby Brickburgh, a hideous shadow engulfs her life. Helene, a disillusioned lone parent, lost her brother, Lincoln, six years ago. Disturbing subterranean noises he recorded prior to vanishing, draw her to Brickburgh's caves. A site where early humans butchered each other across 60,000 years. Upon the walls, images of their nameless gods remain.

reader makes it work or not
Revisado: 02-11-20
the story is interesting, but I found myself wandering because of the 'wrong' reader. His voice is monotonous and does not draw the listener in. better choice in reader may have made me not stop and start so often just to get to the end.

Historia
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

loved the book...Stephen King rarely lets us down. the narration? BEST EVER! Will Patton is by far the best narrator I have heard on Audible. Instead of looking for books by authors, I may just look for books that he narrates!

one of the best
Revisado: 02-06-20
This story, the narration and well defined characters were incredible. I have hundreds of audible books, and have to say that this was one of my favorites. There was a movie made based on this book....but the book far exceeded anything that a movie could possibly hope to present!

What can he do? Only watch and wait. And hope his mounting fears are not realized.

Historia
Daniel Martin has never forgotten his childhood encounters with Frank Watkins, the man who built his family a summer home out of cardboard and plywood. Frank's gaze was oddly confusing, as if he was attempting to discern the proper way to behave because he didn't know how to respond in a human manner. Since Frank obviously wasn't an alien, young Daniel thought maybe the man was crazy. In the end, Daniel would learn the terrifying truth about Frank Watkins. And as an adult, Daniel is about to discover there are more of them out there.

Historia
Tucked away in northeastern Vermont, picturesque Askergan County is the perfect place for a winter vacation - for the lucky few who know about it. Askergan is so peaceful, crime so nonexistent, that they don't even have a full-time police force, just a Sheriff and two deputies who spend most of their time dishing out parking tickets and breaking up the occasional bar fight. But that was before the storm.

Historia
Four decades after it first shook the nation, then the world, William Peter Blatty's thrilling masterwork of faith and demonic possession returns in an even more powerful form. Raw and profane, shocking and blood-chilling, it remains a modern parable of good and evil and perhaps the most terrifying novel ever written.

a keeper
Revisado: 12-22-16
Where does The Exorcist rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
very high. I was mesmerized by the speaking voice of the author and the cadence of the narration. The story, as many know, is chilling but draws you in.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Exorcist?
The realization where the priest (Damian) realizes that he no longer can put the possession down to explainable psychological markers.
What does William Peter Blatty and Eliana Shaskan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
everything...their voices, the delivery.....excellent!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
the whole book kept me interested.
Any additional comments?
worth while re-read and keeper.
