The problem with lying about having a super weapon is that the bad guys might believe they have nothing to lose by doing something stupid that both sides will regret. Or, they might just call your bluff. Either way, the Merry Band of Pirates need a plan to deal with the Fallout.

Great Audio book for my daily walks. What is next?
Revisado: 12-18-21
One of my favorite in the series. I would buy it again just to listen to R.C. Bray do his hilarious audio out takes at end of audiobook.
I suppose the ending is tapering down to the mysterious disappearance of the Elders and the evil "others" that made them ascend to a higher plane? The merry band of pirates are certainly up for the job.
Thanks the author for no cliffhangers and lots of described miliary action. I would love to get my hands on Joe's book of Military space warfare and see if it has any relation to the "Art of war" by Sun Tzu. Probably not when Space war is over in minutes and conceived and completed by ship A.I. computers. But no military plan survives first contact with the enemy!

An elite team of SAS special operators battle across the multiverse after a plague of land-hungry sentient robots invade today’s Earth. But, when an aircraft carrier-based counterattack goes horribly wrong, it traps the team in an alien universe with a top-secret group who’ve already saved the world twice. After discovering a dark plot that threatens humanity’s very existence, the two groups jump into action, fighting both on the surface and in orbit in a last-ditch effort to stop the enemy before time runs out.

Starship Troopers analogy in a war of 'Verses"
Revisado: 10-29-21
Since I have listened to all prior books in the trilogy , was hard not to pickup this book. Straight on I miss the tender relationship of Angela and Vaughn saving her time and again. The book was action packed and I feel sorry for the author repeat typing the word " caterpillar" so many times. But I am sure he used the author trick of typing a symbol and going back at end of draft and using find and replace. Anyways, R.C. Bray at his best! He is a master of impersonations and in any gender or 'Bob' Speak, (notice I did not say Brody speak). I look forward to the next book "Fortitude" and clear up some 'hanging chads' of missing personnel not showing up in the reset and of course the unintended shift in space time equilibrium. It was foreshadowed that an alliance of the lobstermen race and Colonel Sanders would occur but this book only showed a rough path to making that happen. And Please clarify the ascii password buried in the machine code that has something to do with Angela and Time. I hope the author in next book does not gloss over paradoxes like grandfather, bootstrap or temporal discussions. I enjoyed the audiobook and "On to the machine world" !

While he fights to survive run-ins with a Sheid-hunted pop star and a gorgeous but dangerous Dread, Trace realizes his new life cannot erase the trauma of the old.

"I see dead people" ! Then getting run over by a truck is a start of a very bad day. But for Trace, it opens up an entirely worthwhile existence, albeit in a new and entirely unexpected way . I sniffed out this audiobook by following the bread crumb trail of R.C. Bray and he always delivers a sumptuous meal. I am so happy to find this gem and I will get in line for the next one in the series.
Got it all, Action, Love, Regret, Honor and a captivating story line. After binge listening to the audiobook, I woke up to a sweat in my bedroom seeing the red glow of the room and realizing it was only my Digital Clock red numerals illuminating the room. But what a rush of a memory.
The storyline was not too evangelical and was light enough that I enjoyed the plot twists and the final chapters blew me away.
I cracked up at the reference to the age old mystery proposed, Did Adam and Eve have a belly button? Har har.

"Do you speak Brodie? answer: I've still got it!"
Revisado: 10-14-20
I laughed at the authors verbal notes as RC Bray switched from first person to third person narration. Only thing missing was RC Bray bloopers which I have come to enjoy on other audiobooks. I have no doubt a lot of coffee, time and energy went into the crafting of this audiobook and it shows. Well done Gem ! But still trying to explain to my wife the meaning of "Military Space Opera" Was a sad hour pulling out the earbuds as the epilog was being narrated as I knew it would be a long wait to the next book. I am looking forward to it!

Please Sir, May I have some more Bruno Porridge?
Revisado: 03-10-20
Listening to this audiobook was worse than eating chinese food, satisfying but leaving me hungry for more. I wait for all the Bruno/Porter audiobooks with anxious pre order checking and was not disappointed. At first I thought the concept of alternate History was a stretch for this author but the plot was great. I certainly chuckled to see Nixon as a schemer as he was in Real LIfe.
It was fun to find myself sympathizing with the black sheep brother Conner after his human screw ups and misdirected romance to a hard nosed Soviet Female agent. Seems if you can make a woman laugh, half the battle is over. And he certainly made me and Red laugh.
The ending suggested that there might be another book and I welcome it. Thank you to Ray Porter for suspending disbelief with his variety of accents and gender voice changes. He is right up there along with R.C. Bray.
Unless the author is on a deadline with another book, I would gladly wait the estimated 8 month creation, proof reading and narration time for the next chapter of the Kyle and Conner saga.

All they can do is try to bring a few thousand people to safety, before vicious aliens arrive to destroy humanity's home world. "MEH"
Revisado: 02-08-20
I have followed the entire series from the beginning and loved the compilations except maybe for the bizarre audio drama called "Home Front", Now I needed to add my first review. It was with anxious waiting to forgo the kindle version of upcoming Book 9 to wait for the talented narrator 'R.C. Bray' perform. And I was not disappointed . It is worth mentioned that he really suspends disbelief in multi character and gender audio interpretations, he is a master and I buy books just when I see him as narrator.
This might be my last purchase of an audiobook of this series except for the gift of the unexpected 'bloopers' at the end that made me laugh out loud .
The author convincingly connected the book eight to book 9 with my desire for retribution and it delivered. Then suddenly an out of blue plot twist of saving outworld humans from possible dna extermination? I thought we did that in a previous book? It was disconnected and disjointed in my opinion. And all that filler with no references to action. Gosh, another reviewer mention that poor Mr. Bray had to voice all that blah blah nonsense without spark or consequence. OH well.
I felt the last part of the final chapter was done because there was a faint sound of the phone ringing from the publisher for deadlines. I dearly would have loved to have slowly digested the big shovel of revealing information from Skippy and the Elders influence of the universe we were exposed to. I have read that this series was plotted and outlined for 10 books. I certainly will look forward to the last chapter of Joe and Skippy even with this series 9 bump in the road.

Historia
The Krakau came to Earth to invite humanity into a growing alliance of sentient species. However, they happened to arrive after a mutated plague wiped out half the planet, turned the rest into shambling, near-unstoppable animals, and basically destroyed human civilization. You know - your standard apocalypse. The Krakau's first impulse was to turn around and go home. Their second impulse was to try to fix us. Now, a century later, human beings might not be what they once were, but at least they're no longer trying to eat everyone. Mostly.

Narrator drags this book down!
Revisado: 05-11-18
While the story plot is not bad, the character development is diminished by the Audio Reader. She has a droning inflection and lack of energizing differentiated character emotives in her voice. Thus, my mind drifted off and I missed a lot of meat of book in my daze. I am going to have to pay more attention to book audio samples to get a prior feel of the Narrator before spending money on a purchase again.
