Acclaimed as the best of Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series, Sharpe's Company finds Richard Sharpe desperate to save his wife and daughter from inside the fortress of Badajoz. "Consistently exciting," says Stephen King. "These are wonderful novels."

At first un-expected winner.
Revisado: 05-10-10
When the narration first started I was trying to figure out how and why I down loaded this book. I was quickly drawn into the characters and life of 16th century Europe, Full of one nation battling another nation as a common way for man in making a living ,Factual to an extent the author draws you into the depth of death and life as modern man could ,would or should not experience . Very likable or not characters; full of life, or themselves, with hero's and villains. Really makes you look at a part of history that was so very very awful, Read it if your feeling a little put out. You have no idea how life could be or was. Great Read.

The Posleen are coming and the models all say the same thing: Without the Panama Canal, the US is doomed to starvation and defeat. Despite being overstretched preparing to defend the US, the military sends everything it has left: A handful of advanced Armored Combat Suits, rejuvenated veterans from the many decades that Panama was a virtual colony and three antiquated warships. Other than that, the Panamanians are on their own.

Great Book, Once started can't stop.
Revisado: 10-13-09
I love a good sci-fi book as I started listening to this book I was very entertained and intrigued by the large assortment of characters, one of the best read books to date. This has a twist of a love story and human survival entwined throughout the book. Many great people the corrupt, bad, misunderstood and of course the heroes which came out as the strong independent people that made this country great. This is a must read for those into Sci-Fi even for first timers. It has it all from hard work to courage, cowards, strategy and miss-understood aliens. John Ringo also included a must read epilogue of how this world is getting twisted, relaying to the book and now, especially now.CC

Great , with a variety of personalities.
Revisado: 05-05-09
This is one Weber's most complete books of honor and courage in the face of insurmountable odds. I thought this could be one of those long winded books as I was very much pleased, instead it had a strong depth in its plot with a complex but understandable twisted story. If you like Sci Fi War novels this is a 5 star read.

Historia
This magnificent novel is about the murder of a miserly, aged pawnbroker and her younger sister by a radical, destitute St. Petersburg student named Raskolnikov, and the emotional, mental, and physical effects that follow. It is a remarkable masterpiece about a man's turbulent inner life and his relationship to others and to society at large. Dostoevsky explored the human condition on many levels in this great piece, and among the main themes the novel explores is the rather strange theory that criminals have a spiritual need to be punished - that indeed they demand it.

Great plot of human turmoil, beware.
Revisado: 04-19-09
At first I was wondering why I bought this book, though I do like them with lots of hours. Yes pretty silly requirement. This book got better after a few hours and lots better the longer it went on, as it takes allot of time to get into the book fully. Sets itself up very well , but you must listen closely , this is not a simple read and haves a very intriguing ending that is full of surprises and lots of emotion and conflict. For a book being over 150 year old what a psychology wonder encompassing most of the human emotions we our capable of.

Revisado: 04-08-09
A twisted plot as you never know the whole truth. Which as humans we feel we know the real truth but do we. I found this a little political but didn't mind as there are as many points to real life as there are to fiction. Read the book as it is entertaining with lots of adventure and intrigue, CC

I enjoy a good space fight with the straightedges and thoughts this is a great piece of entertainment of sci fi conflict, Reminds me of some of David Drakes books of space warfare I really enjoyed reading. If you like those you will like this.

Revisado: 01-12-09
Hyperion the most intense listening books I have heard or read to date, It truly shined in the audio format, with 5 separate characters, with intriguing stories that all tie together but in totally separate realities. One of my best read audio books or hardback to date. The end was well I don't want to ruin it but I am sure there is more to read, C Clark

An eye opener, Go Bush and our Military.
Revisado: 01-05-09
I was a little skeptical about this book as I had a feeling it was far to the left , Journalism always has me thinking in those lines. I was very much surprised considering the condition of being embedded in an front line Recon unit, I felt it was written in a neutral as could be format about the initial invasion of Iraq, A must read for all those who who live in a fantasy world and reality. The real characters were a interesting bunch as we are so lucky to have these folks to defend our pampered lives. Yes there where bad US recon people too. I felt this was not sugar coated in the least. Interesting how the politics of all our Government resources including this invasion was bureaucratic full of craziness and messed up in the field just like at home. If it wasn't for the people that make up the armed forces we might not of made it as easy to Baghdad.. Foul language is thick in this book but allot of people don't want reality to begin with, Good Luck to us all in the coming years. CC
