Historia
Dalinar Kholin challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions with the future of Roshar on the line. The Knights Radiant have only ten days to prepare—and the sudden ascension of the crafty and ruthless Taravangian to take Odium’s place has thrown everything into disarray. Desperate fighting continues simultaneously worldwide—Adolin in Azir, Sigzil and Venli at the Shattered Plains, and Jasnah in Thaylenah. The former assassin, Szeth, must cleanse his homeland of Shinovar from the dark influence of the Unmade.

Character development
Revisado: 03-25-25
The character development in Sanderson’s books are always pretty good and this is no exception. The premise of the story was good and I appreciated it, but the world is getting a little too big for audio. There are so many characters and names that we are expected to remember, but remembering just the audio of their name is much harder than remembering from seeing the word. The Mormon theology is pretty clear in this one too, and that makes the cosmere seem pretty hopeless. This book actually had a poor effect on my mental health because of the worldview it presented.

Good Characters and clear morality.
Revisado: 12-19-24
The author portrayed his morales very clearly and the characters reflected their desires and twisted morality in powerful ways. The story itself was good, but not as good as some of Lawhead’s other titles. The emotion through the first two books was lacking but the third really picked it up.

Historia
Many of us tend to live as though Jesus represents the "spiritual part" of our lives. We don't clearly see how he relates to the rest of our experiences, desires, and habits. How can Jesus, the Bible, and Christianity become more than a compartmentalized part of our lives? Highly regarded New Testament scholar and popular teacher Jonathan Pennington argues that we need to recover the lost biblical image of Jesus as the one true philosopher who teaches us how to experience the fullness of our humanity in the kingdom of God.

Shift of Meaning
Revisado: 08-13-24
This book started strong and continued in convincing argument and explanation throughout. It did not change entirely how I read some scripture, but it brings a lot of verses into more clear detail or gives them a more concrete meaning. It shifts what I thought about scripture and the Christian life, and brought it into clear definition. Not vertical alone, but horizontal too.

Historia
For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Voice and Plot
Revisado: 07-12-24
At first I expected some similar plots to other popular titles, but with the many secrets that remain secrets, while still revealing enough to make the book have a satisfying end, the book sets itself up as a wonderful introduction to a whole new world. The reader also does a great job with voice inflection, as always.

World Building
Revisado: 01-12-24
The world building of this book is amazing. The creativity of the author in describing such other worldly creatures and world are incredible. As always, C. S. Lewis does not disappoint.

Historia
After forming a coalition of human resistance against the enemy invasion, Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have spent a year fighting a protracted, brutal war. Neither side has gained an advantage, and the threat of a betrayal by Dalinar’s crafty ally Taravangian looms over every strategic move. Now, as new technological discoveries by Navani Kholin’s scholars begin to change the face of the war, the enemy prepares a bold and dangerous operation. The arms race that follows will challenge the very core of the Radiant ideals.

Excellent but slightly predictable
Revisado: 06-06-23
I loved the entire book and it was hard NOT to listen to it for the last 10 or so hours of the production. The story unfolded in a way that was artful and full of surprises. However, towards the end I felt that things had climaxed. Where I expected to be cheering I was startled by the lack of enthusiasm, and surprised by the random choice in narrator (the young boy) near the end. I also felt very disappointed in the villain of the story, he seemed unstoppable and like a genuinely near impossible foe to face. Then things shifted and the setting up of the next book just left me confused.
Although this book is definitely worth the time to listen or read, I just wonder where the series is going now, and why?
