Totally Lame!
Revisado: 06-01-23
This is by far the worst book I’ve ordered in over 3 years. Aside from Dolly Parton’s amazing personality, the book has absolutely nothing to offer. This is a totally unrealistic Cinderella story of a backwoods ingenue who is rescued by a famous singer, meets Mister Perfect, makes gigantic strides towards musical success and outruns her abusive past. This book isn’t worthy of the name James Patterson. To make matters worse it is despicable the way the authors use “abuse drama” at the very end of the story to give the book any real depth. Saw this one coming a looooooong way off. So predictable. Finally, Kelsea is a dreadful reader. She offers very little variation or variety in intonation, mood, or delivery.

Guy Montag is a fireman. In his world, where television rules and literature is on the brink of extinction, firemen start fires rather than put them out. His job is to destroy the most illegal of commodities, the printed book, along with the houses in which they are hidden. Montag never questions the destruction and ruin his actions produce, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television "family."

Narration almost prevented me from finishing the book.
Revisado: 12-03-22
Female narrator is so monotone and dull. This male narrator does a better job. Almost didn’t make it through the book bcs of the female narrator. Plus the really strong English accents are distracting. Too bad they couldn’t have gotten narrators with Greek and/or Italian accents.

Low rating explained
Revisado: 12-01-21
Mary Louise Parker is a very talented and enjoyable narrator with a soothing voice. However, her talent does not apply well to this genre. I could not tell if I found the book boring or her narrating of this particular book boring. I listened all the way through and was glad when the book was over. The only reason I listened all the way through is because I was on travel and did not have time to upload a different book. I listened all the way through and was glad when the book was over. Muenchrath’s is an amazing and inspiring story of remarkable strength, courage, determination and love. Sarah Brand, with her calm and softly modulating voice couldn’t have been more perfect for telling this particular story.

Historia
Twenty-one-year-old Vancouver student Elisa Lam was last heard from on January 31, 2013, after she checked into downtown LA's Cecil Hotel - a 600-room building with a nine-decade history of scandal and tragedy. The next day, Elisa vanished. A search of the hotel yielded nothing. More than a week later, complaints by guests of foul-smelling tap water led to a grim discovery: Elisa's nude body floating in a rooftop water tank, in an area extremely difficult to access without setting off alarms.

Redundant and Rambling
Revisado: 03-24-21
The information revealed in this book could have been covered in 1/2 the time. Writer is too embroiled in his own material. Additionally, although I might have missed it as I finally just skipped to the end, we go through all of this meandering to no avail and never find out what happened ... death unresolved.

Historia
On a sunny morning in May 1939, a phalanx of 867 women - housewives, doctors, opera singers, politicians, prostitutes - was marched through the woods 50 miles north of Berlin, driven on past a shining lake, then herded in through giant gates. Whipping and kicking them were scores of German women guards. Their destination was Ravensbrück, a concentration camp designed specifically for women by Heinrich Himmler, prime architect of the Holocaust.

THANK YOU!!! Page turner!
Revisado: 07-22-20
Thank you to both Ms. Helm and to Ms. Lewis for your dedicated work to reveal the story of Ravensbruck. As indicated, much effort and resources have been focused on revealing the large extermination camps, the WWII general crimes against humanity and the male experience. This complication of research and concentration and presentation of the female experience and the atrocities at Ravensbruck is a long past due and essential body of work. It has great value in history and, I hope will be The compassion and observations shared here are moving and unique tonthe female perspective.

Worthwhile!
Revisado: 07-01-20
Lisa See is, as always and predictably, a phenomenal writer. Amazing with detail and character development. The narrator did an extremely poor and lazy job. She made no differentiation in voice and presentation between Lisa’s well defined characters. Lazy job.
