Historia
Tell a stranger that you talk to yourself, and you’re likely to get written off as eccentric. But the truth is that we all have a voice in our head. When we talk to ourselves, we often hope to tap into our inner coach but find our inner critic instead. When we’re facing a tough task, our inner coach can buoy us up: Focus - you can do this. But, just as often, our inner critic sinks us entirely: I’m going to fail. They’ll all laugh at me. What’s the use?

Historia
The path of following Jesus is an ancient and storied spiritual tradition. Yet many believers are not familiar with the three major forms of prayer and the three stages of spiritual growth that exist to bring them closer to God. In his most personal book yet, Brant Pitre, PhD, draws on the riches of the Bible, the words of Jesus, and the writings of mystics across the centuries to shed light on the mystery - and wonder - of the spiritual life.

Barry McDonagh gave me my life back!
Revisado: 03-19-20
I have suffered from panic attacks in a variety of settings over the years... most recently almost nightly in bed while trying to go to sleep. The resulting lack of sleep was pushing me to the edge. Not wanting to rely on drugs, and finding it difficult to get an appointment with a competent therapist, I found Barry McDonagh’s book and companion app. I have to say, the results were immediate... not in the sense that the attacks disappeared, but in my ability to manage them so I could get a good night of sleep. Barry McDonagh is a true humanitarian... his concern for people is evident throught the book. Barry McDonagh... thank you for giving me my life back!

The Power of Bad

Historia
Why are we devastated by a word of criticism even when it’s mixed with lavish praise? Because our brains are wired to focus on the bad. This negativity effect explains things great and small: why countries blunder into disastrous wars, why couples divorce, why people flub job interviews, how schools fail students, why football coaches stupidly punt on fourth down. All day long, the power of bad governs people’s moods, drives marketing campaigns, and dominates news and politics.

Revisado: 02-08-20
I’ve read ... and listened ... to so many books I sometimes wonder if there is anything left out there to learn. This book was fresh. Gained some valuable new insights. Frankly, I wish everyone would read it.

Beautiful, compassionate book!!!
Revisado: 09-15-19
This book hit me in “the right spot.” It brought clarity to me regarding the struggles in my life, and has lit the way forward. When I am at the end of life, I suspect I will look back and consider this one of the most helpful and life-changing books I have ever read.
Throughout the book, Fr. Gallagher comes through as a wise, compassionate, and loving counselor. A big thank you to him, and all those who brought this book to life!!!

Historia
Over the past hundred years, scholars have attacked the historical truth of the Gospels and argued that they were originally anonymous and filled with contradictions. In The Case for Jesus, Brant Pitre taps in to the wells of Christian scripture, history, and tradition to ask and answer a number of different questions, including: If we don't know who wrote the Gospels, how can we trust them? How are the four Gospels different from other Gospels, such as the lost Gospel of "Q" and the Gospel of Thomas?
