I like that this audiobook is and will be worth reading and sharing even after the war on drugs ends someday, God willing.

After Congress had declared war in 1917, the Southern Baptist Convention met. He observed that the Convention had “too much of Caesar and too little of Christ.” He was the only messenger to vote against the Conventions resolutions. God bless him and may his memory be eternal.

This is a great anti-war book for Christians and non-Christians alike. He starts in Genesis and goes all the way up to his time in his analysis of the worship of the god of war as a false religion.

The late, great Will Grigg

Will Grigg (1963–2017), the former Managing Editor of The Libertarian Institute, was an independent, award-winning investigative journalist and author. He died at far too young an age and can never be replaced. He was by far the most articulate libertarian of the 21st century until his tragic death.

This audiobook, a series of hard-hitting and thought-provoking essays about the State and those unfortunate people who end up dealing with the "business end" of it (the police), is well worth listening to and/or reading. I also recommend listening to and/or reading his earlier book "Liberty in Eclipse".

His complete writings and archives of his podcast, Pro-Libertate Radio, can be found in the archives section of The Libertarian Institute.

One of the best Bitcoin books ever published

One of the best books I have read, not only about Bitcoin, but money in general. The author covers so much monetary history and answers what makes certain forms of money sound and honest and 'hard".

I have read his other books and never missed one of his podcast episodes. I highly recommend this book and his other books in audio format as well as print and Kindle versions.

A great summary of Kinsella's views on IP

Although I highly recommend Kinsella's "Against Intellectual Property", this audiobook is a great introduction to his ideas and arguments. Co-written by Jeffrey Tucker, another libertarian intellectual giant and advocate of the Austrian School of Economics, they explain why so called "Intellectual Property" is not and can not be considered actual property.

Organic American individualist anarchism

Although Tucker identified as a socialist, he was strident in his views against the state. He was surely influenced by his friend and fellow anarchist, Lysander Spooner, as well as Josiah Warren, who might be the first American anarchist.

Tucker also subscribed to the labor theory of value. It's a pity that he did not have the chance to be exposed to the Austrian School of Economics. I can only imagine how his views might have changed on any number of issues, if he had been.

Anyway, this book is well worth reading or listening to, as Tucker presents a solid anti-state, pro-liberty view of human civilization and society in general. It is indispensable for anyone who wants to understand early American anarchism.

Libertarianism defined and explained well

Revisado: 04-18-24

I have listened to this audiobook three times so far. It takes a while to really let the concepts sink in. Thankfully it's only 24 minutes long. I am sure I will listen to it often.

I have adopted his definition of Libertarianism: "Libertarians are a broad group of people who seek the betterment of mankind by decreasing the scope of government and increasing the range of individual autonomy."

The only thing I would change about that definition is to add the word "civil" in front of the word "government". Because there are many types of non-state government. For example, among non-state governments, or non-civil governments there are governments in non-profit organizations, labor unions, banks, corporations, media organizations, business magnates, people's liberation movements, lobby groups, religious groups, aid agencies, and non-state actors such as paramilitary forces.

In any case, I highly recommend this audiobook. The narration is excellent as well!

A fantastic speech against slavery from a states’ rights perspective

This speech was delivered in 1859 by the first German born American to become a US Senator. It was given in Milwaukee shortly after the rescue of the escaped slave Joshua Glover, (Google it). In this speech Schulz outlines the compact theory of the union and the Constitution as a document that grants limited powers to the federal government. He maintains that the states have the right to defend their citizens against federal overreach. I recommend that anyone who cares about the Constitution and individual liberty listen to this audio book, as well as read the speech, which is available online free.
