If this was written by a 13 year old girl, she did ok, but it would still be incredibly unimaginative. How this even got narrated is a mystery to me, unless it's targeted at exceptionally low IQ listeners, which I suppose must exist. If I'd had to pay for this, I'd be getting my money back.

Who has the fearlessness to communicate and publish this with absolute confidence represented by zero audience coaching or patronizing? The talent and intelligence is life-affirming.

One of the worst audiobooks I've ever tried to listen to. If you appreciate and respect things like literature, reading, storytelling, intellect, or wit, this mainstream male ESPN and Kid Rock oriented middle aged white male garbage is not for you. I'm a 50 year old white male and it wasn't for me, that's for sure. I'd try to get a refund but it was included free so all I can do is write this review and suffer the loss of however many hours I tried to let this be entertaining before deleting it forever.

In a series whose main character is referred to as "Bosch", one would expect a narrator would be chosen who could say "Bosch" without some sort of regional strangeness. Dick Hill says, "Bawsh" throughout. it's nails on a chalkboard along with his "black man" impression of Edgar. SMH this needs a redo.

Least original book I've ever experienced

Every single device, convention, tradition, character, event, and structure of this book, and presumably, the entire series, is a simple amalgamation of other works. It's the worst example of the fan fiction explosion. Scenes stolen from Stephen King, J.K. Rowling, and every other basic fantasy construct ever written, but without a single drop of originality. Pig's blood hazing incident? Could the author not even choose the blood of another animal? Or even a different prank? It's blatant and brazen. The narrator in the audiobook is even worse. It's like a manual on how to sound like an A.I. robot while an actual A.I. speech to text capability already exists. Worst book I've ever wasted an audible credit on.
