Historia
It took three tortured days in 1876 for Charles Bravo to die from the poison that burned its way through his body. The subsequent investigation revealed many people with a grudge against the young barrister. The dramatic inquest was covered in sensational detail by the press, but no one was convicted of his murder. Over a century later, James Ruddick draws on new evidence to solve one of the most famous murders in criminal history.

One missing theory
Revisado: 04-19-24
This is a good theory, the most obvious one and could possibly be true. We will never know. There is one theory not mentioned that is more likely the truth but I don’t see it mentioned anywhere.

Historia
ADHD is one of the most common neurological disorders in the United States—yet a staggering 75 percent of girls and women remain undiagnosed. Due to the gender gap in medical research, which does not account for symptoms manifesting differently in women—leading to increased problems with anxiety, depression, working memory, sleep, energy, and concentration—many ADHD women are left to navigate a society that fails to understand their struggles and gifts.

I love a behind-the-scenes story
Revisado: 12-18-23
Amazingly funny review of an equally funny television show. Graham and Sam are excellent human beings. I love their friendship. very well written, and equally as well performed by the two authors.

Historia
As a botanist and professor of plant ecology, Robin Wall Kimmerer has spent a career learning how to ask questions of nature using the tools of science. As a Potawatomi woman, she learned from elders, family, and history that the Potawatomi, as well as a majority of other cultures indigenous to this land, consider plants and animals to be our oldest teachers.

In this intimate journey of self-discovery, Sam sets out along Scotland's rugged ninety-six-mile West Highland Way to map out the moments that shaped his views on dreams and ambition, family, friendship, love, and life. The result is a love letter to the wild landscape that means so much to him, full of charming, funny, wise, and searching insights into the world through his eyes. Waypoints is a deeply personal journey that reveals as much about Sam to himself as it does to his audiences.

Well done
Revisado: 01-19-23
One of my pet peeves are audio books with terrible narrators. Sam Hueghan is a fantastic story teller. I just listened to his sleep story on the Calm app and I didn’t fall asleep because I wanted to hear the ending.
I prefer tangible books because they are real and I hate the digital world……but when I commute to work, I listen and learn.
Sam’s story is one of perseverance and imagination. It speaks to my ADHD adventure seeking personality. If you are the same, it will speak to you too.
I plan on doing many of these hikes through different countries now, so thank you Mr Hueghan. Thank you for using your powers for good. The world needs more of you.

One of the best books I’ve ever read
Revisado: 12-27-22
This book is as hard to read for historical accuracy as it is intriguing. I love the fact that women found ways around boundaries to excel in their lives. It is an amazing story of rising above limitations, and a lesson in the dangers of pride. It is a reminder to all that there is nothing we can’t do, even if the rest of the world is against us.

Historia
Jacob Finch Bonner was once a promising young novelist with a respectably published first book. Today, he’s teaching in a third-rate MFA program and struggling to maintain what’s left of his self-respect; he hasn’t written—let alone published—anything decent in years. When Evan Parker, his most arrogant student, announces he doesn’t need Jake’s help because the plot of his book in progress is a sure thing, Jake is prepared to dismiss the boast as typical amateur narcissism. But then...he hears the plot.

AI narrator!
Revisado: 08-12-21
It is blatantly obvious within the first sentence that this is not a real person narrating the story. I could only listen to three sentences before I was annoyed as shit! I want to hear a real person tell me the story. Not a robot. You can’t say it’s narrated by a person and then have a robot speaking for them. Fucking bullshit!
