Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would suggest that you start the series at book 1, as the characters in the books make appearances in subsequent stories. By then you have met them, and know a bit about their background. Sort of like meeting friends again, and picking up the trail in the rest of the series.

Have you listened to any of Kate Russell’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to all the Dream Man Series books (4), all read by Kate Russel. I would give her a 10, if not for the fact that she fails to 'whisper/shout/etc.' when the text tells us the character whispered/shout, etc. I understand that the reader goes through the text before taping, so she should be expected to be able to change the volume, etc. as she reads. in fact, it usually felt as if she did the opposite of what the text called for. this was very disturbing to the overall performance.
But she still gets a 9.

O man, you have to listen to this!

I bought this book for the sole reason that Sebastian York was the narrator. I had listened to the Beautiful series in which he was the male narrator. The genre of romance is perfect for that deep, sexy voice and I could not wait to listen to more! So, as far as the narrator goes, he can 'read' me anytime!

The story was full of humour, sarcasm,hot and steamy romance, wit, and some very heavy panting (me)! The whole story is told by the H, and from his point of view. Gave me some insight into the male psyche as well! Once done with the book, I was eager to start on Book 2, only there was none! I will definitely be looking out for it.

If you could sum up Silvertongue in three words, what would they be?

action, family, honor

What did you like best about this story?

Book 3 of The Stoneheart Trilogy, Silvertongue is absolutely my favorite and took me to knew levels of intrigue. In this book, Fletcher was able to bring together many loose ends that were left unanswered in the first 2 books. He masterfully wove all the details together, and kept the pace going. There was never a dull moment, and it was intriguing. My favorite part was the dragon that came alive and helped them out in unexpected ways. There were so many twists and turns, that the story was totally unpredictable and I was surprised at every turn. Book 3, made it worth the effort of sludging through book 1 and then 2. The author also did a much better job in this book, by keeping the point of view much cleaner. When a new point of view was introduced, the author started a new chapter for the most part. These clean breaks, made the book much more accessible and less confusing. It appears that Fletcher learned from the mistakes made in book 1. I would encourage all to read, this series as the ending is enjoyable. Family friendliness is 5 out of 5 for this entire series, this is definitely oriented towards kids and older youth as well.

What didn’t you like about Jim Dale’s performance?

Only in book 3 was I able to get used to his thick British accent. Also, he never pauses between when the author switches point of view. It makes it even more difficult to follow if your just listening.

What made the experience of listening to Cascade the most enjoyable?

I loved the intonation of the reader, making it so comfortable and drawing me into the book.

What did you like best about this story?

What I loved most about this book, is that it had me on the edge of my seat from the first chapter. It was a whirlwind of a book, as Gabi and Lia find themselves running from one adventure and into another. Gabi also went through a tremendous growth in her personality, and comes out on the other end for the better. In the mean time her mom has a few surprises for the girls, she's not all scientific but have stronger metal lying underneath. Marcello and Luka risk all to save the Gabi and Lia from an aweful fate, if I say anymore I'd give it all away. Let's say that with great sacrifice comes great love. The ending left me wanting for more, simply having to know what was going to happen. Definitely a great read, and I'd recommend it to anyone. It is clean and romantic, but nothing that tweens can't also enjoy, so family friendliness is a 5 in my book. You can feel comfortable reading this with your tween.

I liked the quick pase of the story. I am just such a sucker for tough girls that need to find their own way in life. It is a good read on the plane or over a weekend if you do not want to get stuck in a thick book.
The naration was excellent - the narrator got the Italian accents real well. I could just imagine Mama Conti when listening to her!

Narator needs coaching

Is there anything you would change about this book?

This narator uses only about 3 notes to tell the story, with each sentence ending on the highest of the 3. After the first 2 minutes I had to battle to stay awake, as the naration just kept droning on and on! She needs coaching to bring voice nuances into her reading.
The story ended abruptly. There was a hint at a solution, but not very clear, but perhaps I missed something?

Would you ever listen to anything by Francis Ashe again?

No, not until she has had some coaching.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I finished the audiobook, last of the 4-part series, and would love to have learned what happened to the daughter. Unfortunately I started at book#2 (of 4), finished the series, and now#1 is spoiled. Do yourself a favor and start at #1 - it contains important background info for the rest of the series.
