Historia
Three years have passed since the Jamaicans caused the apocalypse, and things in post-Armageddon Chicago have settled into a new kind of normal. Unfortunately, that "normal" includes collapsing skyscrapers, bands of bloodthirsty maniacs, and a dwindling cache of survival supplies. After watching his family, friends, and most of the non-sadistic elements of society crumble around him, Patrick decides it's time to cross one last item off his bucket list. He's going to Disney World.

Entertaining story
Revisado: 12-25-23
It was definitely entertaining and at times funny. The characters were endearing. The reveal at the end was very moving.

Historia
In an all too imaginable future, where the privileged lead lives untouched by wars that have become a global pastime, disenfranchised young people who “volunteer” to become super soldiers are injected with nano technology that repeatedly brings them back from death. In a race against time, one such soldier and an analyst struggle to understand strange phenomena that occur after too many resurrections: glitches known as nostalgia, which even in the midst of combat can hurtle a soldier into the past. But after eight, nine, even ten resurrections lies something much worse than just glitches.

Really enjoyed this book
Revisado: 11-10-23
Ireland creates a vivid and terrifying reality of a future where life is expendable and government, and resistance alike, move people around like pawns in their sick game. The dystopian future she creates in this book is believable and well rendered, and the characters and rich and interesting. The perspective of the narration is unique and serves to put you right into the story in a way that comes together so clearly in the end. I really enjoyed this story and the brilliant narration.

Historia
It is 1937, and Laura Ann Langston lives in an America divided—between those who work the mystical arts and those who do not. Ever since the Great Rust, a catastrophic event that blighted the arcane force called the Dynamism and threw America into disarray, the country has been rebuilding for a better future. And everyone knows the future is industry and technology—otherwise known as Mechomancy—not the traditional mystical arts.

Worth a listen
Revisado: 10-16-23
It took me a while to get into this book compared to the others I have listened to by this author. I didn’t find the story as compelling but I’m glad I saw it through to the end. If you like magical realism and fantasy you will likely enjoy this book very much.

Historia
New York Times best-selling author Kim Stanley Robinson returns with a bold and brilliant vision of New York City in the next century. As the sea levels rose, every street became a canal. Every skyscraper an island. For the residents of one apartment building in Madison Square, however, New York in the year 2140 is far from a drowned city. There is the market trader, who finds opportunities where others find trouble. There is the detective, whose work will never disappear—along with the lawyers, of course.

Hard to get through
Revisado: 02-15-23
I wished I had read more reviews before spending a credit on this book. It’s about 4 times longer than it needs to be to tell the story, and filled with a bunch of boring interludes. It’s trying really hard to be profound but you need a message and a good story and the story gets lost. I powered through as it was a good book to listen to before bed as I could fall asleep and miss 20 mins at a time and miss no important details.
