Historia
Twelve years ago, Avril’s mother drowned at Whisper Cove theater, just off the rocky Connecticut coastline. It was ruled an accident, but Avril’s never been totally convinced. Local legend claims that the women in the waves—ghosts from old whaling stories—called her mother into the ocean with their whispering. Because, as they say at Whisper Cove, what the sea wants, the sea will have.

Historia
Now reduced to a schoolyard chant, the Hope family murders shocked the Maine coast one bloody night in 1929. While most people assume seventeen-year-old Lenora was responsible, the police were never able to prove it. Other than her denial after the killings, she has never spoken publicly about that night, nor has she set foot outside Hope’s End, the cliffside mansion where the massacre occurred.

Finally Riley Got Me!
Revisado: 08-09-23
Riley’s style of writing has always kept me coming back to see if the twist put in and the thrills would be epic and have me in shock…and sadly the stories Ive read/listened to in the past left me unsatisfied and ready for each clue before it could get me…but this one MAN I was hooked and didnt see any of it coming and it all unravelled and then tied up neatly in such a satisfying way…MAN just try it out!

Historia
Katrina Kim may be broke, the black sheep of her family, and slightly unhinged, but she isn’t a stalker. Her obsession with her co-worker, Kurt, is just one of many coping mechanisms—like her constant shape and number rituals, or the way scenes from her favorite children’s book bleed into her vision whenever she feels anxious. But when Katrina finds a cryptic message from Kurt implying he’s aware of her surveillance, her tenuous hold on a normal life crumbles. Driven by compulsion, she makes a midnight visit to the Cayatoga Bridge—just in time to witness Kurt’s suicide.

Dizzying debut!
Revisado: 04-03-23
Besides the amazing narration and overall pacing and plot foundation, this book left me breathless. Im glad I went for the audio though, the focus to detail and overall descriptors worked better this way. Loved this story and all the bits and fragments of Katrinas life scattered and torn and found again. The ending went fast and shocked me!

usually audiobooks pull me in and hold my focus, this was one of the first times it was hard to focus and follow the story. the game going awry was cinematic but couldve been played out better, and the blame around them I just dont know, I lost interest so fast, the storys pacing slow and agonizingly so, stretching out specifics and to the point where itll go for so long i forgot which character i had to focus on. the narrator did the best she could though! im sure this is someones cup of tea, just not mine.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

this hit hard
Revisado: 08-28-22
having grown up remembering when iCarly came on thr scene and was rocking everything left to right, jennettes authentic voice and dark humor relate to me and interest me far more than nick shows ever did. mostly because there are issues here that i can relate to on some level, of the kinds of relationships that make and shape us, for better or for worse. i very much enjoyed jennette's raw and blunt ways of explaining things, while still proving that she is a damn great writer, watermelons be damned. i wish nothing but the best for her in life and sending all good vibes, the road to recovery is long and challenging and jennette proves with her voice and narrative and overall story that she is on the road and pushing through. amazing
