Historia
In Writing the Big Book, William H. Schaberg presents an exciting, research-driven narrative of the history of the book, Alcoholic Anonymous, and the formative years of A.A. Granted extensive access to the group's archives along with several other sources, the author reveals the early Fellowship's conflicts and personalities, successes and failures, and dispels many of the myths found in such canonical texts as Dr. Bob and the Good Old Timers, Alcoholics Anonymous Comes of Age, and A Brief History of the Big Book.

Historia
F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic American novel of the Roaring Twenties is beloved by generations of readers and stands as his crowning work. This new audio edition, authorized by the Fitzgerald estate, is narrated by Oscar-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain). Gyllenhaal's performance is a faithful delivery in the voice of Nick Carraway, the Midwesterner turned New York bond salesman, who rents a small house next door to the mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby....

Always a favorite. Narration by Jake Gyllenhaal made it even better. I always hope for a different ending that never comes. But therein lies the beauty of it.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

In this poignant and disturbing memoir of lost innocence, coercion, survival, and healing, Dianne Lake chronicles her years with Charles Manson, revealing for the first time how she became the youngest member of his Family and offering new insights into one of the 20th century's most notorious criminals and life as one of his "girls". While much has been written about Charles Manson, this riveting account from an actual Family member is a chilling portrait that recreates in vivid detail one of the most horrifying chapters in modern American history.

Starts off a bit slow but once it gets going it doesn’t disappoint. Wonderful to know that it’s possible to be exposed to the worst life has to offer and still find your way back to the light.

Historia
They were golden boys who killed with sudden savagery. The trial revealed a dark drama too evil to believe. Handsome, rich, bronzed champion athletes, Erik and Lyle Menendez were the stunning symbols of the California dream. The sons of a high-powered Hollywood executive and his beautiful wife, they lived in a pampered world of Beverly Hills mansions, swimming pools, and private tennis coaches. But the dream became a nightmare when police found the butchered bodies of the boys' parents, Jose and Kitty, in the family room of their five-million dollar mansion.

Historia
Darryl Sutorious was spellbound, convinced he'd found the perfect wife. But their honeymoon didn't last long. Beneath Dante Britteon's façade lurked a man-hater born as Della Faye Hall, whose four previous marriages had been spiked with butcher knives, pistols, vandalized houses, and a lover set on fire. By the time Darryl summoned the strength to demand out of the marriage, Della Faye was only too happy to oblige: with a bullet to the brain. Aphrodite Jones traces the intricate web of this fiendishly calculating sexual con artist.

D for dud!
Revisado: 08-17-18
The author took 93 chapters to tell a story that could have been told in 3. Very slow moving with no intrigue. The narration was robotic with frequent mispronounced words. Overall I give this book a D for dud!

Revisado: 11-09-16
This book really surprised me. Amy Shumer really lets it all hang out in this autobiographical accounting of her life so far. She is fearless and I respect that. She is also very talented. Her story is real and she makes no apologies for it. l love her and look forward to whatever she does next.
