Giggling and kicking my feet the whole time

This story is sweet. It had me giggling and kicking my feet the whole time. This is a quick little romance pick me up sort of story. Perfect for after a heavy read or you just need a pick me up.

Cal and Stella together is very sweet to hear. This is all a gal wants a guy who knows what he wants and goes after it. This is very fast pace and I ate it up so fast.

Chase is DOWN BAD for Cassidy. I couldn’t ask for more in a book. The audio for this book is perfect. 10/10 only way to consume this book moving forward.

The bad boy being a softy for the girl girl does it for me. Chase truly shapes up during this accidental pregnancy romance. There’s real heart in this book can’t explain much because it’ll spoil the book but know it’s beautifully written and you really feel what Chase and Cass is going through.

What’s it like being god’s favorite?

What’s it like being God’s Favorite? Spicy time while reading a spicy scene? I feel like this sounds hot but in theory I’m not sure on logistics.

Sunny and Backette’s Banter was everything. There was Cameos of old charaters was just the right amount. I really expected tthe plot driver to be a 3rd act breakup and was thrilled that it wasn’t - Wont spill the beans but it was perfect.

Loved the growth between both Sunny and Beck. Who knew a Oyster resturant was so hot? Not me!

Narration: I started this as just reading the ebook but with this banter I was like NOPE I need to listen to it in 4k.
Does not disappoint!

How is this possible?

How is it possible that I was sucked in and in love with these two characters within an hour AND extremely satisfied with the ending. What a perfect little palette cleanser.

Pleasantly surprised

I’m not sure what I expected going into this story but I can’t say this is it, nor am I upset with the outcome.

This is Mariana Zapatas latest book in the timeline of original releases and it makes me sad to see that more people don’t talk about it. However I can get it. It’s a slow start even on the slow burn standards. The first couple chapters I had a hard time getting into the story but chapter 20 on I was hooked. Loved the banter between the grump and Gracie. You really see them grow on page. However (I love slow burns don’t get me wrong) but how can the main MC be so blind sometimes 🤣.

While he was a grump there was lot of chatter more between the two leads that I really really enjoyed. It’s a lot different growing the relationship between the two from her other books from neighbors to employers so the relationship is somewhat built in. I feel like in this story we really got the sweetness between the two which I loved.

The voice actors really embodied the characters in my opinion. The pacing of the story is great. I listened to it 1.5 all the way through and felt like the speed was just right. I really enjoyed Mariana having most of her audio books as duets because I just don’t buy solo reads anymore for digital books.

A Mariana Zapata Classic

I’ve read this book more times that I’m willing to admit. Dex is a little rough around the edges and Iris is a goodie goodie but they work. This has MC vibes but I wouldn’t say it’s a main theme. The slow burn of Dex and Iris is. The friendship Iris builds with the other tattooers really comes to life in this audio.

I love in this story of Zapata the main characters get themselves sorted about 70% of the way through so you get to see their relationship grow even more without passing cheesy epilogue vibes. The slow burn tempo reminds me of Zapatas other book The Best Thing(I highly recommend both the audio and book for that one too)

As for the audio portion the first time I heard the second guy narrator I was like wait a minute what is Rhodoes doing here?! Ha! I love that Zapata did it this way. When I’m doing my other tasks when I listen to my books it’s easier to pick out who’s talking.

All the narrators feel like their voices match the character. I did listen to the OG audio of this book as well and I have to admit I love this more since it does have a guy voice for the guy roles. I listened on 1.5 the whole time and it was a good pace without feeling like it was too slow.

Where’s the relationship building

This was an alright story. I wouldn’t read/listen to it again. The relationship between Memphis and Knox felt rushed. I’m so uncertain what they saw in each other. Other than they thought each other was hot.

Maybe I’ve been reading/listening to slow burns lately but I didn’t feel like there was a real connection between the two. I will not be reading any of the others of the series. This was my first book of the series not the worst thing I’ve ever read, but also not the best. As a mother(divorced), I didn’t particularly like how Memphis just let a strange man just walk into her life with a kid, no matter that he is our leading man in the story. So that might be why I’m judging this a little harder. I think the relationship between the two could’ve been better.

Hidden Gem

I am utterly shock how few paper book reviews there are to the numbers of the audio book reviews is 5x more. This story is such a hidden gem. The performance of these two actors is great. I loved the story and wish this became a series. There’s a duo in this book I’d love to know their story as well.
I finished this in a day- I usually listen at an 1.7 speed and loved every second of it

What a good storyline

I loved this book so very much. Now I understand why the description is so short and I won’t ruin it but you don’t have to wait long to find out way. The narration was perfect. My new favorite under wait for it and Luna and the lie. I can not express how much I love a man’s voice saying the love interests lines.

Feels like early 2000s fanfiction

The voice actors were good but the writing feels like poorly written fanfiction. However the spice is good but the third act breakup just turned me off. Should have borrowed it from the library instead of buying it.
