Historia
Sophie Beckett never dreamed she'd be able to sneak into Lady Bridgerton's famed masquerade ball, or that 'Prince Charming' would be waiting there for her!Even though she's the daughter of an earl, Sophie has been relegated to the role of servant by her disdainful stepmother. But now, spinning in the strong arms of the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton, she feels like royalty. Alas, she knows all enchantments must end when the clock strikes midnight.

Cute story, narrator doesn't fit
Revisado: 04-20-22
I liked the story very much, even if sometimes its a bit too cliché, but the narrator, as clear spoken as she is, just doesn't fit the vibe of the story...
Its very strange to hear an old woman's voice talking as a woman in her 20th...

Lovely lovely fluffy story
Revisado: 03-16-21
Got the recommendation for this book from Chandler Ainsley's YouTube channel and im really happy I did!
This book is fluffy and fun and charming and hearing it as an audiobook was even more fun with all the radio segments.
Would highly recommend the audiobook as a vacation "book" even if you are just chilling at home waiting for the pandemic to go away haha,
Would love for it to be translated to Hebrew so I could recommend it to my friends!

Historia
Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Romantic partners, whatever their gender, are a distraction at best and a drain at worst. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefits - someone who knows the score and knows their way around the bedroom.

more like 3.5
Revisado: 03-03-21
3.5 Great writing and the pace of the romance was great, not instalove and not pining for years. Only 3.5 from me because it had so much potential to handle mental health and mix culture dating and it just went right above it...
One more thing, is it just me or most of the bisexual heroine in romance books always "end up" with a man?? Why is that?

Great until the last two episodes...
Revisado: 09-16-20
loved the book! first time for me to listen to a romance novel that handles more of the character processing the situations, past/future, and memories and not *just* dealing with the romance aspect of the story.
I would skip the last two episodes, I was very disappointed with the addition of the unnecessary conflict. And that's why it's 4 stars and not 5 for me...

Augustus Everett is an acclaimed author of literary fiction. January Andrews writes best-selling romance. When she pens a happily ever after, he kills off his entire cast. They’re polar opposites. A great read for every season!
Revisado: 06-24-20
Exactly the book I needed to get this summer started!
Especially now that it's impossible to go on vacation outside the country this book has managed to get me out of my boring daily routine.
Except for the exaggerated and cliché descriptions of Gus's eyes, the writing is really good and enjoyable!

If I Had Your Face is a riveting debut novel set in contemporary Seoul, South Korea, about four young women making their way in a world defined by impossible standards of beauty, after-hours room salons catering to wealthy men, ruthless social hierarchies, and K-pop mania. Together, their stories tell a gripping tale at once unfamiliar and unmistakably universal, in which their tentative friendships may turn out to be the thing that ultimately saves them.

Great writing but the end is too rom-com
Revisado: 04-02-20
I loved the story until the last few chapters where it became too unrealistic... like the author tried to end things too good for all the characters... I wish the ending was more real-life like the beginning and middle parts and less Netflix fro-com...
Overall the book has great writing and the characters are well written and feel like a complete and complex real person...
The male narrator was a bit unemotional at times but the female narrator was great and had a very pleasant voice.
