Great info but terrible personal bias

The book has excellent information but the author has an exhausting and irritating habit of constantly mentioning his negative opinion of folklore and native beliefs regarding plants and anyone who seeks to find meaning in life. It comes off as nihilistic and arrogant at times.

Odd pop culture references and politician praise

Overall an excellent book and resource full of beautiful and useful information. Narrator did a great job reading as well. My only complaint is the strange habit the author has of comparing holy goddesses to corrupt and evil politicians and degenerate celebrities, in an attempt to childishly and naively praise said politicians and celebrities. Anyone who thinks Margaret Thatcher or Hillary Clinton is worthy of praise only has a very simplistic and surface level understanding of these politicians.

idk what you expected from an ancient text

to the people leaving negative reviews: what did you think you were reading? the kama sutra is NOT simply a list of sex positions as modern westerners seem to think. it is NOT in accordance with modern morality since it is an ancient book. it DOES do a great job of showing what attitudes were in that area and time period towards marriage, courtship and sexuality.
