Historia
When the United States was founded in 1776, its citizens didn’t think of themselves as “Americans.” They were New Yorkers or Virginians or Pennsylvanians. It was decades later that the seeds of American nationalism—identifying with one’s own nation and supporting its broader interests—began to take root. But what kind of nationalism should Americans embrace? The state-focused and racist nationalism of Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson? Or the belief that the US Constitution made all Americans one nation, indivisible, which Daniel Webster and others espoused?

Story filtered thru biased lens
Revisado: 04-23-25
It’s honestly a well written book, but the author tells the story through a presentist perspective. For historical reading, I’d prefer the author keep his contemporary politics out of the retelling of the story…

In Continental Reckoning renowned historian Elliott West presents a sweeping narrative of the American West and its vital role in the transformation of the nation. In the 1840s, by which time the United States had expanded to the Pacific, what would become the West was home to numerous vibrant Native cultures and vague claims by other nations.

Historia
In this masterful biography, historian Randall B. Woods peels back the many layers of John Quincy’s long life, exposing a rich and complicated family saga and a political legacy that transformed the American Republic. This deeply researched, brilliantly written volume delves into John Quincy’s intellectual pursuits and political thought; his loving, yet at times strained, marriage to Louisa Catherine Johnson, whom he met in London; his troubling relationships with his three sons; and his fiery post-presidency rebirth in Congress as he became the chamber’s most vocal opponent of slavery.

Best Biography I’ve Ever Read
Revisado: 03-04-25
Comprehensive, while keeping your attention the entire time. This is a book you would have expected from Ron Chernow. I’ve read hundreds of books on the founding fathers, and this is the best one.

Very well written
Revisado: 11-15-24
You can tell this guy lives and breathes American founding history. You begin to feel like you really understand the psychological inter-workings of each founder. Almost to the point where his writing begins to take on the respective form of the founder he is writing about. 10,000% recommend this.

Historia
Israel and Palestine: The Complete History seeks to explain the overall story of Israeli and Palestinian tensions and divisions in the region. Indeed, without properly understanding the full history of the area, it is impossible to understand the current situation. In this book, author Ian Carroll takes the listener back to the very beginning of the conflict some 4,000 years ago, then moves through the major events of the Middle Ages and 20th century, and brings us right up to the present day, documenting the significant events that have happened along the way.

Objective?? A one-sided story of how the Jews raped and pillaged the Palestinians in order to fulfill their prophecy…
Revisado: 08-14-24
It’s genuinely one of the most unbearably anti-Semitic “objective” histories I have ever read. For those who doubt me, look up the author Ian Carrol on twitter and search his tweets for israel. In one tweet he compares Jewish sympathizers with pedophiles defending Jeffrey Epstein. T

Historia
Since he was a small boy, Mosab Hassan Yousef has had an inside view of the deadly terrorist group Hamas. The oldest son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a founding member of Hamas and its most popular leader, young Mosab assisted his father for years in his political activities while being groomed to assume his legacy, politics, status...and power. But everything changed when Mosab turned away from terror and violence and embraced instead the teachings of another famous Middle East leader.

Genuinely good
Revisado: 08-12-24
This book really takes you in a rollercoaster ride of emotion with the author. His first-hand accounts had me rooting against Israel in the beginning as you learn of their atrocities and by the end it seems like Israel genuinely cares about the wellbeing of the Palestinians while the actions of Hamas (and his own father) begin appearing more and more hypocritical over time as he (the author) begins learning about the teachings of Christianity. Insanely good. It’s a genuine steel-man of both sides of the conflict.
Highly recommend to any side of the political isle.
