Historia
Will Africa be the world's next hub of manufacturing? China is answering in the affirmative and investing accordingly. This book dispels the notion that this crucial story is merely about China's exploitation of Africa's resources, illuminating deep questions about our own Western approach to development and the implications for the future of manufacturing. The fact that China sees Africa not for its poverty but for its potential wealth is a striking departure from the attitude of the West, in particular the United States.

Extremely well thought out and researched. Absolute top tier and must read for anyone forming an opinion on the subject.
Only downside is that I wish to have discovered it earlier.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Nice voice but utterly ignorant with Chinese
Revisado: 08-11-21
Writing is alright, sometimes a bit of double speak, but overall interesting.
The narrator was simply ignorant. I mean, at least he could have Google translated or text to speak listened to the computer pronunciation?

Quite bad actually
Revisado: 07-29-21
Title is my first reaction. Why?
- not much of a coherent story
- not much relevance to look at a few unique personas
- boring read: every persona will be arrested or get into trouble one way or another. There’s like 10-20 personas in the book. Not a very thrilling read obviously, in fact, rather dreadful.

Thrilling read, and a perfect ending. It kept the tense throughout, and I read both Red Beijing and this in under a week. Well researched, and excellent writing / narration.

Decent thriller
Revisado: 10-27-20
The book is well researched, which I enjoy as a keen reader of scientific papers. The book was not at all believable, but still very enjoyable for the factful delivery.
Narration was great on Germanic languages, but lacking in the pronunciation of Mandarin names and places. If this was a thriller about Berlin or Paris, the delivery would have been perfect.

Excellent deep dive into the topic, with plenty of historical plots and links. Saved, will recommend to friends, and will probably read again in a few years.
