Good til the End
Revisado: 02-22-24
I liked most of the book until the end. No result was given because there isn't one. The story did keep you on edge, govt conspiracies and such. The narrator isn't the best, but then there are lots out there that everyone touts as the best and I don't like so matter of opinion. The others in this series were very good and this one came up just a little short

That attention comes from the secretary of defense. All of a sudden he wants an interagency task force to investigate. And he wants Jack Reacher as the army’s representative. If Reacher gets a result, great. If not, he’s a convenient fall guy.

Historia
After the demise of the Soviet Union, the newly established Russian government privatized its industry by issuing vouchers to all of its citizens, allowing them the chance to be shareholders in the country's burgeoning businesses. The slips are distributed among the population and auctions are arranged where they can be exchanged for actual shares. For the country's rural populations living in abject poverty, the vouchers appear to be little more than pieces of paper, totally separated from the far-off concept of potential future fortunes.

Good Story, awful ending
Revisado: 11-13-23
I was skeptical about this book but listened anyway. The story is interesting, if true. I thought the narrator was good. Being able to switch accent can be tough and he did a good job. Pay no attention to those that gave him a bad review. I HATED THE VERY END OF THE BOOK!!!!!!! I'm not sure what the author was thinking because it left you hanging and unless he decides to do a follow-up book there can never be an ending

Really Tried To Like It
Revisado: 02-16-23
I have read Khoury novels years ago and when this came out I was interested. It had a lot of possibilities but failed to deliver. There was not one character that I liked or felt compassion for. Very weak characters that you kept hoping would get bumped off. The story could have been better developed and 17 hrs? This book could have been done in half the time. I really couldn't recommend this book unless you are self hating.
