If Narnia had a fucked up, evil willow infested sister world... this is that story! In true Kingfisher fashion, even though it's bizzare and horrifying, it still has heart and dark humor in equal measure.

Stick With It!!

This one is definitely a big boy, but so worth it!! I loved the building sense of unease as the town begins to slip further into the grip of the Ruby Slipper!!

Well.... shit, that was dark, bleak and utterly fucked up! Goes to prove that a book does not need to be large to pack one hell of a punch.

Holy Hell!!

Some characters and settings in a story are the equivalent of a cozy blanket, that is what this book felt like to me. Comforting, yet horrifying in equal measure. Be forewarned....If you think you've seen some outlandish dietary plans, just wait till you meet Emily and Rodney Harris.

Classics are classic for a reason! Dracula is of course no exception. A slow burn gothic piece that creeps into your mind and takes you on this supernatural, atmospheric, hellish journey to an ending to remember.

Dark Romance at Its Finest!

OMG, this one!!! I absolutely LOVED this book!!
So let's address the fact that of course it is a dark one, but I found it to be dark for a different reason than most readers. The realities of human/sex trafficking are very hard to face, but this book does a service to survivors by facing it head on with a badass group trying its hardest to take it down. Zade is amazing and even though it may be an unconventional courtship (to put it mildly), he and Addie are definitely soul mates and officially one of my favorite fictional couples!

Heavy metal, dive bars, and dark secrets abound in this badass new-wave horror story!! Absolutely fell in love with Kari and her plight, this one was a slow burn and so, so worth it!
