A VERY ENTERTAINING AND QUICK LISTEN

An 8 hour book but it flew by. This man has led a very interesting life as a hostage negotiater working on the highest profile cases from the 70's to the 2000's. He basically helped build the protocols that are still used to this day and his stories are both informative and entertaining. I'll definitely give it a second listen at some point.

Not bad. I dont get all of the hate for the narrator that I see in other reviews. He did an ok job. If you like the first book you will probably like this one.

Great Listen! Not a fan of the narrator.

This was a great story about the time that Hunter S Thompson spent with the Hells Angels in the mid sixties. Very entertaining and wild tales about the worlds most notorious motorcycle club.
I was not a fan of this narrator. It felt like he was yelling the story at you for 9 hours straight. I suppose he was trying to match the intensity of the story with his performance but it felt like a miss to me. Great book none the less.

Obviously there is no way to fact check a story like this so you either believe it or you don't. Either way, it was still highly entertaining and will make a great movie some day.

Repetitive but interesting

I felt like I was sitting in a college course while listening. The narrator is very "Professor" like in his delivery. The chapter on lake and sea creatures felt long, drawn out and horribly repetitive. Otherwise, I enjoyed the stories and information.
