Historia
From the internationally bestselling author of No god but God comes a fascinating, provocative, and meticulously researched biography that challenges long-held assumptions about the man we know as Jesus of Nazareth. Sifting through centuries of mythmaking, Reza Aslan sheds new light on one of history's most influential and enigmatic characters by examining Jesus through the lens of the tumultuous era in which he lived: first-century Palestine, an age awash in apocalyptic fervor.

Catastrophically flawed.
Revisado: 01-10-23
This is a well researched and written piece, but the author takes extraordinary leaps of opinion and argues them as indisputable facts. It feels most times that the research was done right up to the point that the authors preconceived ideas could begin to break down, and then is pushed off a cliff of assumption and speculation. There are a lot of interesting ideas and theories, but often the historical data or simply the lack thereof is used to justify an argument against accepted accounts of what took place in the early years of both the life of Jesus as well the early church. If you are not a believer, this book will lead you astray, if you are believer that is on the fence and looking for deeper context, this book will lead you astray. The only audience that will enjoy this book is anyone who have left the church and are seeking validation for that decision.

Historia
The Politically Incorrect Guide to Christianity offers answers to the secular world's criticism of Christianity's history, traditions, and beliefs. You think you know about Christianity, but did you know: God likes "organized religion" - it's clear from both the New and Old Testaments; Christians have always believed that men and women are equal; the correct pronoun for angels is "he"; science was stillborn everywhere outside the Christian West; Christianity, which first taught the world to value victims, is now the victim of a victimhood culture; and more.

Excellent for the nonbeliever who is curious about Christianity
Revisado: 07-26-21
This is a very thorough explanation of some of the things that make people question the validity of the Christian faith. It would be a great read for anyone skeptical, any non believer that would like to know a little more, or the apologist that would like a fresh perspective on some of the current cultural issues that society has with Christians.

Historia
"How did it all begin?" "What happens when we die?" These are just two of the questions Reverend Oliver "Buzz" Thomas hears centrist Christians asking as he travels across the United States, and he knows that their voices are not being heard. They're people of faith, not of politics, and they want more from their religion than a voter's guide.

Dangerously misleading!
Revisado: 07-22-21
I would only suggest that you read this book if you have developed a lot of maturity in your faith and theology. The concepts in this book are very contradictory to scripture, and could easily lead someone without a firm biblical foundation astray. Proceed with caution, or better yet, spend the 3 hours reading the actual bible instead of trying to view it through the distorted human lens that this author is using.
