This book was such a breath of fresh air! It flipped everything that I expected on it's head and just told a beautiful and quite funny story that I hope continues in more books. What a breath of fresh air!

Abrupt ending

The performances were phenomenal, but the story wasn't put together very well for me. Plus, I'm used to Chekhov's gun, where if there is a gun hanging on the wall in the first scene, it needs to be used by the second or third act, or it shouldn't be on the wall. That's how I felt about a character that Brandon was making a big deal about calling him. This character should have never been introduced, it waa pointless.
It wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, it just wasn't good. I was happy to see that the twist wasn't something obvious and I loved how they were touching on very important social issues happening like renters, homelessness and microagressions. So much more could have been done with this story, even in the last scene. It just ended abruptly and I felt unsatisfied.
