Five contestants have been chosen to compete for ten million dollars on the game show One Lucky Winner. The catch? None of them knows what (or who) to expect, and it will be live streamed all over the world. Completely secluded in an estate in Northern California, with strict instructions not to leave the property and zero contact with the outside world, the competitors start to feel a little too isolated.

This was pure Grippando at his best. Emotion, substantial detail, and wonderful characterization. Twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat and going back for more. This book is part of a series but easily read alone. Terrific narrator too.

A terrific political thriller
Revisado: 12-01-13
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Baldacci's characters have realistic relationships that make the plot feasible and believable. I always want to move on in the story to find out what happens to them next.
What does Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Their performance intensifies the action and the interplay between characters. The experience is like listening to a play.
Any additional comments?
Baldacci is one of my favorite authors and King And Maxwell is one of the reasons why.

Historia
Heloise considers it a blessing to be a person who seldom attracts attention. In her suburb, she's just a mom, the young widow with the forgettable job, who somehow never misses a soccer game. In the state capital, she's the redheaded lobbyist with a good cause and a mediocre track record. But in discreet hotel rooms throughout the area, she's the woman of your dreams - if you can afford the hourly fee. For more than a decade, Heloise believed she was safe, managing to keep up this rigidly compartmentalized life. But her secret life is under siege. One county over, another so-called suburban madam has been found dead in her car, an apparent suicide.

Equality for women comes in many forms.
Any additional comments?
