Excellent read!

Don't mix a great reader with good readers. Any of the readers could have told this story well. All of them reading was a bit much. Story was fast and fun. Thieves and double crosses and revenge. Great read!

Historia
From one of Britain's most celebrated writers of color, Girl, Woman, Other is a magnificent portrayal of the intersections of identity and a moving and hopeful story of an interconnected group of black British women. Winner of the 2019 Booker Prize and short-listed for the Gordon Burn Prize, Girl, Woman, Other paints a vivid portrait of the state of post-Brexit Britain, as well as looking back to the legacy of Britain's colonial history in Africa and the Caribbean.

I was wondering how the different narratives were going to come together but I was more impacted by the individual struggles of each voice. The stories become more engaging and empowering as the book progresses.

Needs stronger women
Revisado: 11-07-19
Creates iconic admirable formidable female character; has her captured and beaten twice. male characters are mostly complex. Women serve or are their to service men. Book just needed feminist lens and could have been that much better. Book ends in battle like previous book. Series not, this far, not as good as Way of Shadows series.

When the book truly takes off it does not stop!
Revisado: 09-23-18
Enjoyed it. Seemingly predictable at times then crushingly relevant and unbearable all at once. A true misdirection of anticipations with a beautiful adventure woven in.

Almost perfect
Revisado: 01-30-18
I eat this story up. All the way until the end. Such fun character builds. All I want is a little more developed final resolution. Everything builds to this epic ending but only a brief near miss happens and then... an epilogue. So close.
