Historia
Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

Thandie Newton is fantastic
Revisado: 09-27-17
What could I say about Jane Eyre that hasn't been said before? So, I will focus on the narrator. Thandie Newton was simply amazing. I forgot that each of the voices weren't from separate actors. Her accents and voices were easy to recognize who was speaking in the book. She had great pacing and I think she read the story very well. Would definitely listen again.

Historia
The legendary writer and performer of Monty Python and Fawlty Towers fame takes listeners on a grand tour of his ascent in the entertainment world John Cleese’s huge comedic influence has stretched across generations; his sharp irreverent eye and the unique brand of physical comedy he perfected now seem written into comedy’s DNA. In this rollicking memoir, Cleese recalls his humble beginnings in a sleepy English town, his early comedic days at Cambridge University (with future Python partner Graham Chapman), and the founding of the landmark comedy troupe.

I wanted more python
Revisado: 08-04-17
I've loved John Cleese ever since I encountered Monty Python when it was in syndication in the US. The cheese shop and the dead parrot sketches were amazing to me as a kid. The one where a guy is dancing near another and slapping him in the face with a fish left me cracking up for hours with my brother. It was amazing!
I didn't understand what made these sketches funny and it was great to hear some of the details that went into creating them and the reasons he thinks they work as comedy.
Overall though, I wanted more from his time in Python. For as much as he described his relationships with Marty Feldman, Graham Chapman, and his time on the Frost Report, he didn't describe his time on Python. He glazed over it and alluded to disagreements that I suppose I should know about but don't really.
I wanted the small details at least as equal to the details shared to his time in boarding school or the frost report, but he left me wanting more, which, is probably pretty masterful of him.

Historia
Over the course of a 30-year career, Eddie Izzard has proven himself to be a creative chameleon, inhabiting the stage and film and television screens with an unbelievable fervor. Born in Yemen and raised in Ireland, Wales, and postwar England, he lost his mother at the age of six. In his teens he dropped out of university and took to the streets of London as part of a two-man escape act; when his partner went on vacation, Izzard kept busy by inventing a one-man act, and thus a career was ignited.

Great footnotes
Revisado: 07-14-17
I'm so glad I got the audio version of Eddie's autobiography. I loved the real-time Wikipedia research and the extra footnotes. Well done!

Ocean's 11 with teenagers
Revisado: 09-25-16
The switch between voice actors was surprising. Multiple actors speak for the different characters so there were probably six voices for one character.
The author switched POV so often to assist the grand scheme suspense. It was usually told by the POV of the person who didn't know what was happening.
Kaz was a little too jaded for me, but I thought the overall story was very fun. I could imagine it being a made into an Ocean's 11-type film.
