Historia
A masterful, intensely suspenseful novel about a reader whose obsession with a reclusive writer goes far too far - a book about the power of storytelling, starring the same trio of unlikely and winning heroes King introduced in Mr. Mercedes. "Wake up, genius." So begins King's instantly riveting story about a vengeful reader. The genius is John Rothstein, an iconic author who created a famous character, Jimmy Gold, but who hasn't published a book for decades.

Perfect narrating and what a great story.
Revisado: 01-30-17
This was a great second series in the trilogy and can't wait for the last book. Will Patton is pure magic when he narrates this book. I felt myself really hanging on every word and anxious for what was coming next.
Great listen!

Historia
In the frigid pre-dawn hours, in a distressed Midwestern city, hundreds of desperate unemployed folks are lined up for a spot at a job fair. Without warning, a lone driver plows through the crowd in a stolen Mercedes, running over the innocent, backing up, and charging again. Eight people are killed; fifteen are wounded. The killer escapes. Mr. Mercedes is a war between good and evil, from the master of suspense whose insight into the mind of this obsessed, insane killer is chilling and unforgettable.

Gripping, funny and dark 10/10
Revisado: 11-06-16
Where does Mr. Mercedes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
At the top.
What does Will Patton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I love how Will is able to emulate each character in the story and you actually feel like you are listening to a different person each time he speaks with a different tone.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I'm a huge horror movie fan, and this was quite a dark story. There were a lot of dark twisted turns in the book and I'm all for that. I was thinking to myself at parts of the story where I'd say to myself "wow, that's pretty messed up even for my taste" lol. Overall if you are into detailed story telling this is def worth a read.
Any additional comments?
I never really have been into audio books, but Mr.Mercedes completely changed my thinking on Stephen King. I'm so glad I was able to stick with this book because it was definitely something I will recommend and think back to for a great story. There are times where the main character is very twisted and dark. I love these kinds of stories, but you might not be into them. Overall this was a great story to listen to and I'm looking forward to the rest of the trilogy!
