Courage in the face of risk.
Revisado: 01-13-25
We often color and follow instruction. After fear or tragedy, it was beautiful to see this author portray that healing and saving can happen if you trust the strength you have.

Captivating!
Revisado: 08-07-19
This author created real people in a time I long to see! We too often are fed tales of Royals with historical fiction. It is refreshing to follow this professional group of people, this captivating and compassionate family, their sense of urgency and desperation. I am so engaged by these characters I would love a sequel!

Historia
Eating is an indispensable human activity. As a result, whether we realize it or not, the drive to obtain food has been a major catalyst across all of history, from prehistoric times to the present. Epicure Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin said it best: "Gastronomy governs the whole life of man."

The potential to be deliciously interesting, but deceptively disappointing in its delivery
Revisado: 07-13-19
I absolutely love ancient cultures and history, but this needs to be prefaced before you purchase this book that the author/instructor is a deceptive liberal communist. His commentary is so biased that it dilutes the amazing history of the topic. There is no need for him to inject his liberalism into this topic and sprinkle his tainted opinions on the dishes.

Unfortunate.
Revisado: 02-24-18
Such a disturbing departure from the historical fiction previously listen to by this author. So unnecessary to take the book into the gutter, it really took away from the vibrant visualization of history that she’s done in other series. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am.
