this is one of my favorite GH stories. the narrator was anazing...i still can't believe that one person did all those voices so well. it truly sounded like different actors to me.

i have tried to listen to this several times because i like the book and the author. however, the narration is so terrible i have to stop. the women sound like children and the men have these gutteral voices that sound like their voices are badly strained. it seems to be a replacement for a decent scottish accent. most sentences end with an annoying drawl/ intonation. i dont know why this same narrator is used for so many Garwood books. it prevents me from buying more. very disappointing.

I'm a Julie Garwood fan, but a bad narrator can ruin it. When I purchased this book, I forgot I don't care for this narrator (Anne Flosnik). She is OK I suppose, but has some traits I find really annoying. One, she kind of drags out lots of final words on her sentences. Two, overall, the narration is kind of monotone. It's not literally monotone, but it comes off that way anyway. Not a lot of differentiation between people or emotion as written. LIke her voice stays within a limited range. For example, when the hero "roared" something, it was read as a sort of gruff whisper, which doesn't sound like "roared" to me. I'm not sure I will be able to tolerate listening to the whole book.

I like Rosalyn Landor, who has narrated some other Garwood books. She's much better.

i really liked the history, but it was hard to listed to due to the terrible narration. the narrator's voice was quite monotone with an extremely annoying inflection or intonation (not sure how to describe it) at the end of each sentence. I'm not sure if i will be able to listen to the whole thing, solely because of the narrator.

I'm an amanda quick fan and so i really regret that anne flosnik is her usual narrator. i find her very annoying and it has prevented me from buying other quick books.

I loved this book. it engaged me immediately, and I couldn't "put it down" until I finished. It gave me a wonderful insight into a type of art I never really understood. The alternating narration between Annie and Beth revealed their sometimes different perspectives on the same event or issue, and yet also showed how similar they are when it came to their collaborative art. I also saw how their work fit into the larger international art world and artistic trends. the way they have used their art for environmental activism is amazing. The narrator/performer captured some of the humor and other emotions in the words she was reading. A really great read. I highly recommend it.

it's too bad this narrator does so many of julie garwood's books. i have loved garwood for years, but i find the narrator hard to listen to. she has some speaking habits, like raising tone at the end of each sentence, that i find distracting and annoying. she has good aspects, like being ok with character voices, but the rest ruins the books for me.

another fun story. as usual, singh created great characters. i loved Memory's quirkiness. the performance is terrific. dawes is able to do male voices well enough that i can suspend my disbelief and stay wrapped up in the story.

I enjoyed the story, but the narration was difficult to listen to. All the male voices were strained and guttural, sounding more like pirates about to say, "Arrgh, matey." My throat started to hurt in sympathy just listening to the voice strain. The narrator seemed to be straining so hard to just get what she considered a male register that she had nothing left to insert any kind of emotion into those characters. They all just yelled, as if that qualified as emotion. The accents also sometimes slipped into something that sounded more Spanish than Scottish. The women's voices were all high pitched and childish, but at least they sounded more natural.

This was the first audible book I've listened to that didn't have excellent narration.
