This is the second audiobook in ,The McCabe Trilogy written by Maya Banks . What an amazing awesome series this is .❤️ It begins with loyal second brother Alaric McCabe preparing to ride to McDonald keep to formally ask for Riona McDonald’s hand in marriage. This is just a formality as all has been decided weeks prior to this between Alaric’s brother Laird Ewan McCabe and Laird McDonald . The agreement now is for Alaric to spend time with the McDonalds and their Larid’s only heir , Riona .
Alaric sets out without accepting Ewan’s offer to take some of his most trusted men but Alaric believes in the fighting skills of all the McCabe fighting men and declines the offer . While travelling to McDonald keep , Alaric reflects on his match Riona and finds her beauty is fair but her preoccupation with the “ duties of a man “ ie fighting and manner of dressing as one must be an area quickly set to rights in his mind .
Upon setting up camp for the night just after dark , he divides his men into two groups . The first six men to setup a perimeter and take first watch while the remaining six will try to get rest . Alaric is awoken by a disturbance in the air before a sword pierces his side before he is able to engage two men with his own sword. Upon seeing the battle being lost by ambush he gets upon his horse and passes out.
Enter Keely McDonald, outcast of the McDonald Clan due to the old Laird making sexual passes at Keely . One such incident was observed by Lady McDonald and she banishes Keely as a result. Even Keely’s best friend Riona does not to aide Keely after the death of Lady McDonald. So Keely makes a life by aiding the few McDonald’s looking for a healer as their’s is aging and with questionable skill. She also trades for goods and hunts .
One morning she finds a injured man upon a horse 🐴 in her cottage’s yard . She finally gets the half conscious man and horse into her cottage where she begins to heal him of a sword wound. Upon awakening Alaric and Keely almost fall in love instantly. But Alaric’s brothers come searching and find the Alaric in Keely’s safe keeping. They take Alaric and Keely back McCabe keep for further healing ❤️‍🩹. But can the two deny their feelings? Must duty come before heart ❤️? Alliances are at risk . McDonald land boarders Neamh Alainn and the McCabes need that land as access to Ewan’s heir’s birthright . Can Alaric give up Lairdship and his own clan for love ?

PARDON ME BUT IAM TO MARRY WHO ?

Eliza Knight delivers a awesome listen in , The Highlander’s Reward . I definitely enjoyed the vocal acting as well it suited the story so well . Now on to the next in this series…
Laird Mangnus Sutherland delivers his sister to marriage in the disputed lands of Northern most England. Where both the Scottish and English lay claim to the lands . He is returning to Scotland after delivery of his sister safely to her husband . When he comes across some troops of William Wallace and the man himself . Laird Sutherland makes quick salutations to the followers and William but wants to make haste from Disputed lands and head home ,his duty done .
Enter Lady Arebella de Mowbury , who is being wedded without her willingness to oblige her father in this matter. They find themselves entering Stirling and directly into a battle between the Scots and English . She finds herself and her men surrounded and she fights like a demon with any weapon at hand but quickly sees it is not going their way . Laird Sutherland observes the fine beauty defending herself and rides to her rescue.
Magnus plans to take the beauty to Dunrobin Castle; making arrangements for her safe return home from there . But an Attack by one of his own men ,upon Arebella , shows Magnus that no matter his Alllies and responsibilities to his Clan; his honour demands that he act . His plan is simple marriage to the beautiful Arebella is the best answer for all ,especially him lol.😊 Once Magnus makes up his mind he finds his decision extremely satisfying. His plan to Woo her . She will not receive a kiss until she asks for one but again Magnus teasing and gestures soon work their magic .
On the trip home to Castle Donrobin ,it was easy to forget reality at times . 1) Their Countries are still at war . 2) they should not having feelings for each other ,other than hate . 3) Both were unhappily to wed others . What revenge will the scorned do ? Can love survive in an environment of insecurity or will others tear them from each other’s embrace?

First of all , Ceci Giltenan is a wonderful delightful story Teller that never disappoints. I also find that time absolutely flies by when listening to any of her audiobooks . You will find yourself experiencing wide ranging emotions while yearning for happy endings for the variety of heroes and heroines.
Laird Eoin MacKay remembers the reasons for his living hatred of Clan MacNicol . He remembers as a young man being taken prisoner by Bhaltair MacNicol . The time spent barely alive in the dungeon cells . Death was inevitable except for the aide of a young MacNicol . Now years later can Eoin see past his hatred when he takes Lady Fiona MacNicol hostage. His hatred and loathing are strong for Bhaltair MacNicol . But can he see past them to the beauty of his captive ?
Lady Fiona MacNicol has a secret. One that can change the momentum behind Eoin’s pulsing living hatred. But will he listen? Can he believe a MacNicol ? Will he be the one to show her she isn’t unworthy of a ransom but worthy of that as well as love. Will Eoin forsake old hatred and grudges ? Will a love be born from the embers of hatred?

SOME DREAMS DO COME TRUE …..

Awakening from a dream has Saxon Honey Todd believing that twin brother Pitney has been murdered by a man with dark hair and eyes 👀 with a scar over one eye . She tries to convince herself it’s a dream but shortly two cousins arrive to reinforce the fact of Pitney’s death and the name of the individual responsible , the Earl of Regenford . The Todd women are described ,in the story ,as independent and capable of withstanding a siege. Therefore the listener gets a sense of the strength of Saxon and her abilities as she swears to kill the man responsible for Pitney’s death . She leaves the wild and rugged North Country of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 to seek justice immediately upon hearing their message.
Enter into the story Lord Botolf , Earl of Regenford , who’s service Pitney is in . While competing in a Tourney,an attempt on Lord Botolf’s life is made . Pitney thwarts the murder attempt but gets gravely injured in the process of saving his Lord’s life . It becomes clear that Botolf believes his half brother Colin is responsible due to jealousy . However he cannot find his half brother or concrete proof at this point . This when Saxon catches up with Botolf , Pitney and other members of both families. She almost succeeds in stabbing Lord Botolf before her uncle explains his sons have mixed up the message that was sent .
The Earl of Regenford , Botolf, finds himself confused , intrigued and physically aware of Saxon . Her behaviour and beauty intrigue him to the point he makes her his bride upon the return to his home . However his character is one of self reliance and strength which seems to struggle with 1) his past marriage and it’s horrible history 2) marriage to Saxon when his death may be unavoidable 3) Saxon’s independence and need to provide and protect her loved ones .
Another awesome and amazing listening experience from Hannah Howell.

MISCHIEF , MYSTERY ,LAUGHTER = LOVE ❤️

Alyson Mclayne has become a true favourite of mine 😊The series starter is absolutely filled with mystery ,laughter and finally love . Definitely a 5/5 for me .
Caitlin MacInnes is rescued from the cruel and evil Laird Fraser by the braw and handsome Laird Darach Mackenzie. Both Caitlin and Darach have made promises they plan on keeping. Darach swears never to allow himself to love again after a horrific betrayal by a previous betrothed. Caitlin,herself, swears no man will rule her life from now on .
The adventures of both characters will have you smiling and giving an occasional giggle 😂. The story explains the reasons for the struggles between Clan Mackenzie and Clan Fraser prior to Caitlin’s rescue . But Caitlin’s history is more vague by her choice. Her character is definitely delightful and doesn’t exactly lie but she definitely is liberal with the truth lol. Darach is, as I said before a Braw and handsome Laird , frequently on the receiving end of “ Caitlin’s good deeds “ or unintentional (?) “ mischief “
When trouble comes calling , in the form of Laird Fraser ,to collect the right to Caitlin 1) Will her feelings of safety and home be just a dream ? 2) Will Darach admit that love still exists? 3) Will Clan Fraser finally triumph over Can Mackenzie?

Can friendship triumph over hatred ?

Definitely a keeper and wonderful listening experience. Julie Garwood does not ever disappoint ! The Secret is one story that I had the privilege to have listened to as well as read . The story is based on the friendship between an young English girl , Judith , and a young Scottish girl ,Francis Catherine . They are becoming fast friends but as time passes and Francis Catherine becomes pregnant .She requests that her Brother-in-law Ian , Clan Chief Ian , to go get her friend for the birthing of her child . This is around the 12th Century so the tensions are extremely dangerous and tense between the England and Scotland..Ian arrives and Judith was waiting . Judith can’t wait to see her friend and help with her birthing . Because Judith has been awaiting such a message from her friend about being pregnant and being scared . But then Judith has been learning and studying pregnancy to aide her friend. She also can hopefully look for her secret while in The Highlands . ....can love come to two deserving people. I can absolutely say awesome read and listening experience.🌸

I enjoyed the story by Joann Black and the awesome narration of Rebecca McKeran .
Alexandra is taken from her quiet life ,that is centred around life at the Abbey, after receiving a summons. The summons she must answer is from her despicable and greedy cousin . Who’s horrid plan would ultimately see him with her lands and her out of his way .
But...there on the floor, may lie a desperate plan for escape. It evolves the man that lies almost beaten to death .But can two desperate individuals seeking safety and freedom aide each other. Especially as the man , Ian , holds secrets close to his heart ..freedom and Revenge?!
I enjoyed the story but maybe the ending was not what I hoped for as I had a few questions that were left with me wondering......🌸maybe the next story.....

Alana Khan weaves a truly wonderful descriptive world for the listener to fall into . The listener finds themselves believing that you are actually there in person. Vocal acting is delivered by Zachary Zaba .
Anya is abducted from earth and finds herself sharing a cell with a gladiator. Not just a gladiator but a half lion one ! What ? ! Yeah ! Leading a life of misery, Zar eats , fights and sleeps . He is dead inside. But this human , Anya, keeps knocking on his cold heart . And this dead heart starts to beat for this human ....this Anya ! But love without freedom is worth fighting for isn't it ? Anya shows what a " human female " is capable of when push comes to shove !
A spicy Paranormal Science Fiction Listen . The story was amazing and enjoyable . However the narration of the male voice was not always as strong and at times fades compared to the female character's voice in the story . Enjoyable listen.🌸

Little Girl Found .... And Maybe Lost ....

An undercover officer and a woman needing her little inner child cared for meet . Both have their own reasons to be at the Special Littles Resort. Adam believes in his oath of office with ever fibre of his being . He lives to serve and protect his community. Chloe feels exhausted and wants to leave her day to day work life behind .She wants her Fantasy World . One in which she is taken care of by a Strong, Loving and Dominant man .
Chloe feels Adam fits her Fantasy man’s bill to a Tee . But is it too well a fit ? Can forgiveness be given when trust is fractured? How do you believe? Or trust in your feelings? How can Adam and Chloe return from this ? Can they ? This is delicious listen and once again Meredith O’Reilly delivers delightfully! Sierra Kine’s vocal acting is totally engaging to the listener. The story has elements of Age Play with all it entails . The Feminine surrender to a Delicious Dominate man .......😊🌸

A Gripping Dark Romance that Delivers.
