Historia
There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, his and hers. Which means someone is always lying. When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Detective Jack Harper is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation. Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.

definitely a fun ride
Revisado: 03-03-24
I was hooked throughout, especially the final 2 hours I couldn’t stop until I finished! Voice actors are great and the disguised pov throughout was a really fun touch.

Historia
An absorbing chronicle of a much overlooked chapter in Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’ life - her 19-year editorial career. History remembers Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis as the consummate first lady, the nation’s tragic widow, the tycoon’s wife, and the quintessential embodiment of elegance. Her biographers, however, skip over an equally important stage in her life: her nearly 20-year-long career as a book editor. Jackie as Editor, written by one of the authors Jackie edited, is the first book to focus exclusively on this remarkable woman’s editorial career.

Lovely book
Revisado: 01-13-23
It’s true that we know so little of Jackie Kennedy’s life, especially after 1963. And the images of her that are the most populous tend to focus just on her time as First Lady and the decade or so after. This book makes it clear that her life was incredibly interesting and even more beautiful towards the end. The book gives an incredible insight into Jackie as a working woman, and it reveals something that is missing from many general recollections of her, and that is that she was an incredibly intelligent and dedicated woman. It really honors her in a truthful manner. The narration is also incredible and they tell the story with so much ease.

great/interesting listen
Revisado: 09-01-22
The book gives a great insight into the very unique, ridiculous, and glamorous lives of the women Capote surrounded himself with as well as his own intimate life (that was quite ridiculous in its own ways). Reading about such overstated wealth is definitely odd but this book brings you into their world of complicated relationships, high society lives, and how no amount of money or fame can truly buy happiness.

Historia
Golden Globe-winning actor Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under) performs Truman Capote's masterstroke about a young writer's charmed fascination with his unorthodox neighbor, the "American geisha" Holly Golightly. Holly - a World War II-era society girl in her late teens - survives via socialization, attending parties and restaurants with men from the wealthy upper class who also provide her with money and expensive gifts. Over the course of the novella, the seemingly shallow Holly slowly opens up to the curious protagonist.

didn’t always age well but still a worthwhile read
Revisado: 07-27-22
Although some of the language used in the book certainly does not age well at all, the story at the center remains timeless + the narration is excellent
