Historia
How do master storytellers compel us? There have been many attempts to understand what makes a good story, but few have used a scientific approach. In The Science of Storytelling, Will Storr applies dazzling psychological research and cutting-edge neuroscience to our myths and archetypes to show how we can tell better stories, revealing, among other things, how storytellers - and also our brains - create worlds by being attuned to moments of unexpected change.

Impeccable analysis of both story and psychology
Revisado: 04-07-25
This has become one of my favorite books. I’ve listened 4 times and plan to revisit it again in the future. It’s rich with deep neuroscience and intricate concepts about not only our relationship to stories, but the mechanics underlying their magic.

Life changing
Revisado: 04-10-24
A few years ago I discovered I was interested in systems and strategy, and began a long journey of exploring these concepts. I’ve read handfuls of books on the subject that didn’t quite stick, until I read this one. It opened my eyes to a whole new perspective and paradigm. I’ve read this book about 4 times since first discovering it, and plan to revisit it every few years. One of my favorite books. It’s truly enlightening.

Personal and professional networks shape everything we do. A chance meeting leads to a swanky new job; two businessmen collaborate online and cofound a successful start-up; a friend introduces a promising entrepreneur to a millionaire looking to invest. In this practical guide to discovering the rules of our superconnected world, the authors show that success is less about who you are than how you connect. With an eye toward business applications, Superconnect outlines the new rules of our densely linked society.

Life changing ideas for an introverted person
Revisado: 01-15-22
Through this book was my first introduction to the distinction between weak and strong links. Prior to ingesting these ideas, I disregarded casual friendships and acquaintances, believing they were worthless and a waste of time. I am now highly motivated to pursue weak link connections and have a crystal clear idea of how to grow a network, where I had no confidence previously. I truly have a new outlook towards social connective tissue and am excited in ways I’ve never been to get out there and create weak links.
