I was disappointed,I truly loved The Henna Artist but this one not so much
Revisado: 04-21-25
I highly recommend the Henna Artist this one not so much . It was emotional choppy ,a bit lacking in holding my attention and if it was trying to be a mystery it was a boring discovery of the truth . Too much deceit even in the end. A lot of dying so a bit depressing . Just didn’t meet my expectations after reading The Henna Artist sorry to say

Think Daisy Jones and The Six blends a band book with the band Heart .
Revisado: 04-13-25
I liked it don’t get me wrong but I hated the way the whole imagine of Cassie was represented. I know this author is very sensitive to the “ chunky ,fat ,chubby ,solid “ looking character but Cassie came off as a hideous fat troll and I hated that . It was too much about her looks and that bothered me. I loved the band triangle angst and the sister who really was so unlikable at times . Poor Cassie between how her mother felt about her in utero to her sister’s behavior it was sad . It’s not a story that you haven’t read or heard before but it was entertaining enough . I wouldn’t have said it was great but it was entertaining enough . Dakota Fanning did a great job telling the story and I had some questions in the end that weren’t answered but with that all said it was a good read . Maybe the author can take a time out about character size for a bit . We all come in different sizes ,we all get that but it’s too much focusing on that in her stories that are getting annoying now . Tell me about the character’s thinking ,mindset ,true self I don’t care about the thigh size ,enough with that now please

Historia
Beth and her gentle, kind husband Frank are happily married, but their relationship relies on the past staying buried. But when Beth’s brother-in-law shoots a dog going after their sheep, Beth doesn’t realize that the gunshot will alter the course of their lives. For the dog belonged to none other than Gabriel Wolfe, the man Beth loved as a teenager—the man who broke her heart years ago. Gabriel has returned to the village with his young son Leo, a boy who reminds Beth very much of her own son, who died in a tragic accident.

It was good ,with a great ending!
Revisado: 04-07-25
Young love is powerful and beautiful and heartbreaking, full of passion and angst. Some can’t let go of their first loves some live in the past and others have daily reminders of what was and is . This book is all of that . It was a good read but it’s not a story you haven’t heard before. It has some twists and turns to not make it so common and the beautiful ending was truly perfection. Love ,loss , pain and suffering is what you’re getting with a beautiful ending so I recommend .

I liked it but it was a bit lack luster . So many characters,A storyline that could have easily been amazing,I liked the premise but it was just lack luster. It was a solid read but it could or should have had more passion ,more emotion, more everything.

I’m so sorry but can I please get my credit back for this book . So dull !!!!
Revisado: 02-14-25
This book was like a retelling of the most boring day in a life story, 3 days described of pure flatness so sorry to say . It sounded so promising,a firing ,a wedding and a ex husband to deal with but this was like listening to a grocery list. I just don’t get it and I’m so bummed that I feel like I wasted my credits for this but I do .

Historia
For fifty years, Abe and Jane have been coming to Central Park, as starry-eyed young lovers, as frustrated and exhausted parents, as artists watching their careers take flight. They came alone when they needed to get away from each other, and together when they had something important to discuss. The Park has been their witness for half a century of love. Until now. Jane is dying, and Abe is recounting their life together as a way of keeping them going: the parts they knew.

This is more of a life story than a love story
Revisado: 02-11-25
I listened to this on audio and the narrator was amazing, excellent job for sure . This author has great writing skills and I would definitely recommend and read more from her . With that send this book is more of a life story over love . It was heartbreaking and not just for the loss of the main character in the end of her life but for all the very reasons that make a life story very complex, sad and difficult at times. I think the writer showcased too much of the lows in this couple life and the results of those hard times and didn’t touch enough on the beautiful times in life . The beautiful times were skimmed and the hard times were showcased. More balance would have been such a better way to go,just my humble opinion. If you call a book a love story then show it more . Life is hard and complicated but if you only focus on those moments it can be a bit depressing. The read had a bit too much “ depress “ to it .

Cate Kay knows how to craft a story. As the creator of a bestselling book trilogy that struck box office gold as a film series, she’s one of the most successful authors of her generation. The thing is, Cate Kay doesn’t really exist. She’s never attended author events or granted any interviews. Her real identity had been a closely guarded secret, until now.

This book was good but could have been 5 star amazing.
Revisado: 02-09-25
It think it’s always a disappointment to the reader when a assumptions in the entire theme of the book and the enormous amount of pain and suffering from all when it would or should have been addressed and the book could have been powered on by truth of the accident yet the author could have shown the selfishness of the Cat as the teenager that goes off to leave and live her live without the very easily accessible information that she had the whole time to know the truth yet just believed a practical strangers deception. The truth would have made it a much more interesting read . All of us have the ability to be selfish but the action of Ann Marie to Amanda never set well . This book is still a worthy of year time read . So please read because the author is talented and look forward to her next book but hopefully she will learn a smarter book is always a better one.

So excited for this book to come out,it didn’t disappoint
Revisado: 12-28-24
I love the honesty ,the ease and simplicity of the way author Mel Robbins explains the way to help us have a better conversation with ourselves in order to have hopefully a better life . She shares so much of herself and she never gives you any bit of babble . It’s all very personal, solvable and heart to heart . No huge big blah ,blah doctor words ,just true life lessons explained with heart and soul. When you hear Mel Robbins speaking on this audio it’s like you’re having a heart to heart with her and then with yourself. I truly appreciated all her sharing ,honesty and kindness in hoping that we all succeed with her and for ourselves. I’ll be listening to this book many times over ,it’s the encouragement that never stops giving when you are listening. Thank you Mel Robbins

It was disturbingly fair read at best
Revisado: 12-16-24
I never like to not finish or jump around on a credited audible read because they are pricey and I don’t like to waste my credits. Sadly that is what I felt like I did with this listen . It wasn’t horrible but there were so many “WTH “ moments that I just couldn’t relate or understand. From the ex husband,he was so unlikable,to the mom , and her sad sad issues . It was a very upsetting read too ,just not what I expected or wanted to listen to

Historia
In 2022, Lisa Marie Presley asked her daughter to help finally finish her long-gestating memoir. A month later, Lisa Marie was dead, and the world would never know her story in her own words, never know the passionate, joyful, caring, and complicated woman that Riley loved and now grieved. Riley got the tapes that her mother had recorded for the book, lay in her bed, and listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about smashing golf carts together in the yards of Graceland, about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs, just the two of them.

Such a heartbreaking, heartfelt, honest and loving tribute and memoir
Revisado: 10-11-24
I laughed ,I cringed ,I shed tears and sobbed . Lisa Marie daughter Riley should be so very proud of herself and I’m so proud of her as a reader . Lisa Marie ,Elvis ,her brother ,so much insight so much love and honesty . This book is such a sad book yet thoughtful and inspiring. Lisa Marie ‘s life was so good at times ,so hard ,so heartbreaking and self destructive. Nature or nurture ? Generational trauma and early death. So touching to listen to with Riley Keough and Julia Robert’s narrating . I give this book 5 stars of such respect to Riley Keough . You did your mom so very proud and we wish you and your sisters and family decades and decades of love ,light and peace
