Historia
We live in a world that’s obsessed with talent. We celebrate gifted students in school, natural athletes in sports, and child prodigies in music. But admiring people who start out with innate advantages leads us to overlook the distance we ourselves can travel. We underestimate the range of skills that we can learn and how good we can become. We can all improve at improving. And when opportunity doesn’t knock, there are ways to build a door.

Actionable insightful book for teachers, managers, leaders, and anyone who looks for potential in people they admit or hire.

This fantastic book kept me riveted and was directly applicable to my work as a teacher and podcaster and leadership speaker. The insight on collective intelligence, the caveats and insights on spotting potential and the research and stories make this a book I will be recommended to everyone from other teachers to administrators, managers, CEO’s and Human Resources as well as guidance counselors and admissions officers. I particularly love the many voices used in the audio book which felt it was crafted with as much care as the written book — which I have also ordered. One of my best book of the last several years. If you work with kids or college students this is a must read.

Historia
This true-life wilderness survival epic recounts 17-year-old Alex Messenger's near-lethal encounter with a grizzly bear during a canoe trip in the Canadian tundra. The story follows Alex and his five companions as they paddle north through harrowing rapids and stunning terrain. Twenty-nine days into the trip, while out hiking alone, Alex is attacked by a barren-ground grizzly. Left for dead, he wakes to find that his summer adventure has become a struggle to stay alive.

I enjoyed listening to this story. It was captivating and I kept tuning in even when not driving (the sign of a great audiobook for me.) if you love outdoor stories of people in the wild, this is a great memoir.

Historia
We all have both good and bad habits in our life. Creatures of Habit reveals how to remove bad habits and replace them with godly ones. But it's not a matter of working hard, of "pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps." That approach simply doesn't work. True transformation is God's work - our job is to listen, obey, and put into practice what he's already directing us to do. Steve Poe has pastored large, growing churches for more than 34 years, and during that time he has counseled hundreds. He's seen that poor choices often become bad habits that in turn cause problems.

Excellent book with a completely different take on habits

So many books tell us what to do, not what not to do and the great habits to replace them with. This is a fantastic book for Christians and will change your perspective on so many things. Excellent!
